And I think I misspoke to an extent. Giving reads I can see your point, but asking questions and putting down votes and pointing things out to help I.D. maifia should be town's role, right? Both to help people read me and to better read others. Not just giving general advice on how to play the game.
Town's role is to not scumslip and to vote for anyone who does. Doing things to help ID the mafia is good, but that doesn't always include pointing things out — if you make a case against someone, the scum team will just dismiss that case and then it just takes a couple of townies to believe the scum team over your case and then your case is gone and then scum knows to adjust their narrative in the future so that they won't be caught again. Instead, if you notice that someone is doing something odd, you should subtly try to push that person into doing it more without pointing it out until they can no longer explain themselves out of the situation. It's exactly like that thing from detective stories where the detectives have figured out who the criminal is, but they only have circumstantial evidence so they need to use that knowledge to trick the culprit into saying something he wasn't supposed to know.
As far as helping people read you is concerned, don't scumslip if your town and do scumslip if you're scum. That should go a long way. The more you can stay stuff where you're especially prone to scumslipping, the more believable it is.
