Forgotten in the list of pseudo-villages is one of my favourites:  IronMonger.  You get some sifting, you can get some economy, and you can get some +actions.  I've had games where all the components of an engine are there, except a "village", and my opponent goes Big Money or some such.  But they've overlooked IronMonger, which can easily give you all the +actions you need. 

I'm not saying it's the best village, but it might be my favourite, and I think it deserves a mention.

Wanted to change from Wandering Minstrel to Plaza.  Wandering Minstrel may be the strongest, but I think Plaza is the best. (When I think best, I think best designed / most fun.)

Oh noes, I meant to vote for Fishing Village, but accidentally voted Farming Village. Why can't I resubmit?

I mean if we're talking the best village, it's probably Wandering Minstrel or Lost City or Border Village or something. I think Wandering Minstrel is too annoying to resolve, especially IRL, but is so powerful you probably want it anyway. Lost City I haven't played with.

I like the feel of Fishing Village and Border Village the most I guess. Bazaar is another nice one.

I think the problem with Farming Village is that, while its power is usually quite useful, and might at times make FV more desirable than other villages, it doesn't really change the way you build your deck or play the game, and so it feels really bland. Topdecking attacks are the main exception in which a kingdom with Farming Village is significantly different than one with 4-dollar Village.

The point I'd that it's not vanilla.  Your statement is like claiming that Mountebank is 100% unskippable.

Claiming that Mountebank is 100% unskippable is not incredibly far from the truth and Farming Village skips over cards far less often than Mountebank is skippable.

Vagrant, on the other hand works as a mini-version of the concept with guaranteed non-negative result.

Farming Village's effect helps engines run more smoothly exactly as much as Village's effect does. Vagrant is pretty much just a cantrip, and the most noteworthy scenario in which it is likely to be significantly stronger than that is when you can benefit from knowing what's on top of your deck. The vast majority of time, you only get Vagrant when you can't get anything else that improves your deck.

I'm not misreading.  Just questioning your use of English, which is remarkably inaccurate for somebody who is pedantic about it so often.  Omitting edge cases to be succinct with advice is one thing.  Making trivially false statements is another.
