You may have seen my little post in the memes thread, and you may have noticed two missing letters, which I was handily able to substitute in Donald X and Doug Zongker for.  However, it does make me wonder why we haven't seen a card name starting with X or Z yet.  I mean, there is the obvious reason that not a lot of words start with either letter, but I think it would be fun to have some cards with X or Z names, particularly if the card stuff fits its name.

So your challenge is to make a fan card with a name starting with X or Z, and make it flavorful enough to justify the name.  This can either be directly from the name, or have it do something similar to a card its name is similar to, like how most +Action cards are different names for towns.

X-words:

Xebec - a speedy, three-masted trading ship
Xenium - an obligatory gift to a visitor (usually a foreign ambassador)
Xoanon - a carved wooden idol
Xylomancy - divination using twigs
Xylophonist - a player of a xylophone

Z-words:

Zealot - a fanatic
Zeppelin - a blimp
Ziggurat - a step pyramid
Zwischenzug - a move made to stall for time

If you find other X or Z words, feel free to use those as well.

For Z, Zealot and Ziggurat are good names. Zeppelin could be, depending on the set's theme.

X is much tougher. Xebec and Xenium could be OK. Xenophobe is the only other thing that comes to mind.

Xylographer -- a person who makes wood engravings of text or images -- could be neat and particularly thematic as some sort of Woodcutter variant?

Edit: Since xylographs were used to produce new things like prints, maybe something like one of these?

That seems not that much less powerful than the Pillage attack, and that's a one-shot. What if it was "reveal a card from your hand; each other player must discard a copy of it"? (I.e., you don't get to see what's in their hand before choosing what to make them discard.)

"Zoo" and "Menagerie" mean the same thing; it's Slightly Annoying to have one reward multiple copies of the same card in hand and the other punish it.

No joke, i had the idea for a card with this name days ago when Wero first complained about the lack of an X card... I guess it wasn't good enough, and it still isn't great:

About the flavorful Z card, i wonder why nobody thought of this obvious name, yet:

I like Necromancer/Zombie a lot, but Necromancer looks too good in comparison to Rogue—+3 Cards vs. +$2. Maybe Necromancer should just be 2 cards?

Honestly, i didn't put any thought in balance. Is Rogue a good card? I always felt it was rather weak, which is why i didn't really mind Necromancer being better. If you want to make a real card of this, you are probably right, Necromancer compares a bit too favourably. Not sure whether +2 cards is the best fit, but i guess you could try it.
