Well in every game I play, everyone seems to quickly assume I'm scummy anyway, regardless of whether I am or not. So this way kind of gets you to the "Joseph is scummy" point earlier, and then we can do something else. So, now I've told everyone I'm scummy, we can look at other people who might actually be scummy.

I'm going to assume this is 100% serious since obviously no one would respond to an admonishment about jokes with a joke. It's fun. I like making jokes. However, I really think they can hurt town. Self-voting for laughs...it can throw things off. I joked around with WW about being scumpartners in Musical Mafia--and that was used against me in a big way. Especially when everyone starts making jokes it makes it easy for scum to hide by doing the same thing.

Joseph, assuming you're town, why would ADK be trying to get you lynched D1?

Do you,
A) Think that it's a scum move from ADK, rather than a town one? If yes, please explain why.
B) If you think it's a scum move, why do you think it benefits him to push your wagon this early? It's obviously a pretty flimsy wagon that you're not getting lynched on for the time being.

I don't want to make the mistake of hammering Joseph, because that's apparently a scum tell, but at the same time I'm pretty skeptical here. He could be scum, and pulling a neat trick. I don't think I will vote for Joseph yet without more reason, but if you're going to be dumb enough to admit to being scum, you should be lynched.

It's not about "admitting" that he's scum, it's clearly meant to be taken as a joke. But I think that scum is more likely to joke about being scum because a) they're nervous and know that they're guilty and b) it's a way to deflect suspicion from you. I especially think that someone who continues to joke about being scum after being voted for scum is likely panicking, and hoping that the whole thing blows over. The fact that he then reverts to OMGUS'ing me is just icing on the cake.

I think I will not take action against Joseph, nor will I draw a conclusion. At the same time, I'm not entirely sure I buy his whole joke thing. Comedy gold is not worth trashing your chances at Mafia.

Joseph I feel like you enjoy playing this game on hard mode all the time and make it as hard as you can to survive in day 1.

At this point I think Joseph is townyish though? If any other player said that I think they would be scummy. But for him it sounds null.

Ah, well that's a good point.  Though not 100% convincing.  I've done things as town that I've done before as scum specifically to protect myself against potential arguments like that in the future.
