The one time I opened Mint/Fool's Gold, I lost.

Haha, it's not quite as dominant as some people think (though it is strong.)  This is directly from this game where I opened Mint-FG and my opponent could have gone Salvager/FG but decided against it.

Oh no, if that kid's opponent opens Mint/Fool's Gold, it will be much easier to connect his Scout and Estates!
Even easier if he opens Mint/Estate!

Noble Brigand board?

Noble Brigand wouldn't do anything against Fool's Gold.

Yeah, but with the Mint purchase it could take a while to build the economy for the Scout purchase.

D'oh.  I'm the reason that Mint/FG is so highly ranked on CR.  And it's not from me getting 5/2 ...

And I think, that you wouldn't gain another Copper with your Mint, because Copper is a bad card...

It spits out coppers.  Not a very strong defence though.

Fool's Gold is a treasure, so if I revealed a FG when you played Noble Brigand, I wouldn't gain a Copper.

Yeah, I looked around for a better one, but that was the only one I could find (the original wasn't quite as blurry, but was really small, so I made it a little bigger).

There are loads of ways to empty one stack by turn 4 - particularly with 3+ players but also in 2 player (for instance with Ironworks, Armory, Workshop or Hermit).

If you mean empty every pile in the supply - not even Celestial Chameleon can do that by turn 4, not even with 6 players...  8)

It's only talking about solitaire, and it is talking about every pile in the supply (including all treasures and such)... see the latest thread in the puzzles forum!

I don't have the slightest idea how that could even be done remotely - I reckon it must involve Dark Ages cards, as I am not yet particularly familiar with them...
While I remain sceptical until I see a solution, I reserve enormous kudos in advance! :)

Well see his solution here, where he ends the game with 285 points on turn 4.
