Yeah but I feel that this is important as I think ash is seriously upset and feels that he has been personally slighted. I feel like I have to apologize again as looking back at that post I made about an IRL friend, the sentence missing is "I'm posting about this because I see the similarity between him and how you're playing this game". But because that sentence is missing, it's very easy to see how it can be a very inappropriate personal attack. I just want ash to know that wasn't my intention.

I actually came into this thinking that these kinds of posts are all fine. Like, isn't this a separate world from reality where everyone changes his personality?

That's entirely unfair.

I was posting at work yesterday. I stopped posting when I finished work at 11pm. I then had other forum commitments which I did very very late at night. This morning I've been helping someone move and I'm now off to have a nap before I go to work again.

Since this game started I haven't had a chance to actually sit down and look at things properly. I still need to read the setup properly. So for now, short posts during times when I'm actually able to post is all you can expect.

Thanks for the explanation.  I appreciate you didn't mean it as an attack.

For anyone else, such a statement would be a scum tell.  For Hydrad, it's simply a tell that you're reading something from Hydrad.

Argh.  I should quit signing up for Mafia until I'm guaranteed to have time to post again, I don't want this "lurker meta is normal" thing :(

I think Hydrad's big defensive post was null; by default I would say it's scummy, but I think coming from a newbie who hasn't been under that much lynch pressure before would be reasonable as town or scum.  However, I don't think it would be unreasonable to read it as towny or scummy (I just think it would be wrong), which means whoever voted Jimm (I think it was at least two people?) for saying Hydrad's defensive post was towny is, uh, at least wrong.  I guess that doesn't make them scummy though.

Okay, so then there's this thing with ash, he put Hydrad at L-1 without announcing.  I think the main possibilities are:
1. Scum ploy hoping someone will derphammer, especially since it's easier to draw attention to that person the next day.
2. Scum generating reactions, hoping to draw attention to someone else (like silverspawn for jumping off).
3. Town generating reactions.

I think (1) is not unreasonable, not like he really expects a derphammer to be likely, but man it's sweet for scum if it happens, and he does stuff like this as town anyway so he thinks it won't look scummy anyway (same goes for (2)).  And the thing pointing away from (3) is, I don't know, I still feel like you announce L-1 in that case.  I don't think (3) is unreasonable coming from ash, just less likely than null.

Why are you voting for him then ?

As far as my observation being unfair, I had forgotten you were from Australia, sorry.

I currently imagine mail-mi wearing a dark trenchcoat and a bowler hat, hunched over a bit, toothpick in his mouth, holding a gun in his pocket.  One bead of sweat trickling down his nose.
