WHARF 2 THA BRIDGE and I just played
this exciting game, which featured such powerful cards as Mountebank, Scrying Pool, Festival, Nobles, Peddler, and Coppersmith (which yes was pretty powerful in this setup). Now of course, one may ask "why Scry when Mountebank will just flood your deck with Copper and Curse?" Well, on turn 17:
— WHARF 2 THA BRIDGE's turn 17 —
WHARF 2 THA BRIDGE plays a Scrying Pool.
... getting +1 action.
... revealing a Festival and keeping it.
... making chwhite discard a Nobles.
... revealing a Festival and a Copper and putting them in the hand.
WHARF 2 THA BRIDGE plays a Festival.
... getting +2 actions, +1 buy, and +$2.
WHARF 2 THA BRIDGE plays a Festival.
... getting +2 actions, +1 buy, and +$2.
WHARF 2 THA BRIDGE plays 3 Coppers.
WHARF 2 THA BRIDGE buys an Inn.
... shuffling 12 cards into the draw pile.
WHARF 2 THA BRIDGE buys a Peddler.
(WHARF 2 THA BRIDGE draws: 2 Scrying Pools, a Curse, and 2 Warehouses.)
Naturally, WHARF bought three Provinces the next turn. Not to be outdone, on turn 20 I:
— chwhite's turn 20 —
chwhite plays an Inn.
... drawing 2 cards and getting +2 actions.
... discarding 2 cards.
chwhite plays a Nobles.
... drawing 3 cards.
chwhite plays a Mountebank.
... getting +$2.
... WHARF 2 THA BRIDGE gains a Copper and a Curse.
chwhite plays 4 Coppers.
chwhite buys an Inn.
... shuffling 21 cards into the draw pile.
(chwhite draws: a Coppersmith, 3 Scrying Pools, and an Inn.)
FWIW, on that turn I declined to play Peddler to prevent a reshuffle. I'm sure beefier Inns have been bought, but never one that I've seen.
