I just played this game, which features Scout's most likely scenario to actually see play (fodder for Swindler). My opponent immediately gave me one, and asked me to give him one back when I hit his baron (turn 4). But then I realized scout is actually too strong a card to give him!

In an Hunting Party - Ambassador game with no +buy other than powered-up Cities, it felt like a bit of a waste to spend $5 on a Curse.

So instead I bought an IGG (cursing my opponent right away) and Ambassadored the IGG back during the next turn, thus "cursing" him again with an additional unique and gaining for myself the Curse I had wanted in the first place.

Yeah, that scout was a mistake. I just couldn't resist...

It may have only been against a bot, but I am so jazzed about this one. I nearly gave up early, but decided to stick it out.

Have you played the Bishop/Fortress golden deck before?  I'd guess not because you hardly utilized the combo.  Here's the link to the wiki article because I'm lazy.

Didn't know about the golden deck, but that is why I bought the pair, I saw they'd work well together. At the same time, I bought the watchtower so I could grab a gold when I trashed it...only afterwards realizing that I mixed it up with another card.

Is the only time in this thread that we're going to recognize that great player, Lord Bottington?

Turn 1 - buy chapel
Turn 2 - buy treasure map
Turn 3 - buy treasure map
Turn 4 - trash two estates and two copper
Turn 5 - trash two treasure maps gaining four gold
Turn 6 - buy a masterpiece gaining ten silvers

I don't get it, why is that a bad strategy... he's basically all set to green, right? He did get pretty lucky, I guess... or are you not being sarcastic?

I'm pretty sure that wasn't sarcasm. At least it shouldn't be.

It takes a Lord Bottington's to pursue such a naïve strategy, then luck out with a turn 5 Treasure Map pairing. As long as the bot didn't continue to buy Treasure Maps, it should have been all set to win.

Average money density equal to $1.72/card making an average of $8.6 per 5-card hand.  I'd say he's well on his way victory being able to Province probably 8 times in his next 10 hands.

Banker Bot clearly has some programming issues. Besides shooting himself in the foot by trashing nearly all of his treasure to Bishop, he misses a winning play on Turn 26, where he has $7 and Bishop but doesn't Bishop a green card and buy the last Province.

Once he's done that, he doesn't have enough cash to end the game, and you have essentially infinite time (and you use 22 turns of it). The game will keep going until he runs out the Copper, Estates, and Duchies/Silver. He's barely accruing points because he doesn't have $5 and there's only one Bishop in his deck.

My opponent had a great time building an ideal vineyard deck with university. He just forgot there was no +buy card in the kingdom haha!!!

I actually think it doesn't matter. That's a kingdom where you could pump vineyard up to a really right amount. Then again it's 3 players, so maybe not.

Lacking +buy on a vineyard board isn't quite as important as lacking vineyard on a vineyard board.  :P

It's hilariously true haha. In fact his vineyard would worth 9VP each!!!

I mean that if there were +buy card(s) then I'd build a university engine with plenty of peddlers..., not treasure-based (BM hybrid) like I played.

I have 50 cards in my deck and my three Beggars just have to collide.

I've had my only 4 workshops collide in a 40 card deck. No log though, so  no proof.

No. There's no describing this one. You'll just have to read the log and see what happened. Suffice it to say, this was one of the most nerve-wracking, gut-wrenching games I've ever played.

No WV play on Turn 14???  :(

KC Sab games are brutal for sure.  Often they are decided by the first person to hit the KC/Sab Combo.
