The five Princes of the Bureaucrat pin.A Prince of Crossroads counters this pretty well.
And now throw prince into your calculations
I think its just +1.
It conforms to the principle that $8 cards begin with the letter P.I guess I have to start calling them "Plääni" and "Pkulkukauppias" then...
So, the upgraded harem is a prince?Any idea of when the new promo will be up and running? Sounds exotic from what I've heard.
That sounds about right. I also heard it's an 'upgraded' Harem of sorts.
Also, is anybody NOT excited by the imminent World Cup?I'm not excited either. I'm also in Finland.
If you have 10 BVs and 10 Wharves then you're right, but the argument doesn't scale. If you're far removed from drawing your deck anyway (as Jerni was for the entire game), reliability is very important. You want your average turn to be at least decent. Adding more terminals (Marauder) that don't draw and produce even other cards (Spoils) that don't draw either, is really disastrous. In theory you might have enough Villages to do whatever you want, but in practice your engine ends up really sputtering, as could be seen in the video. In that specific situation, I definitely agree that buying the extra terminal was a mistake, especially since it was a Marauder. But generally, in games like that, you should be more concerned with getting as many Wharves as possible than caring about terminal collision, because Wharf is in your hand less often than most terminals, which allows you to get slightly more terminals than normally, given that those terminals are actually useful for you.
I like it. It covers similar ground to Scrying Pool but it's more subdued. Would probably be ok at $4 since in order to really get it going you needFTFYcantrips, villages, and $,trashing
Or if there are five Highways in play.Gah, meant to say Band of Misfits, not JoaT.
If the piles run out then it's not as good as the actual card.
You need to add, 'while this is in play', otherwise it doesn't work at all.Actually, it works. In fact, the magician himself would probably be surprised by the effectiveness.
universal edge caseOkay, now I've seen everything.
Lab>Caravan (I'm sure there's some sort of edge case here)1) You want to draw the extra card on your next turn, not now.
However Baker>Peddler is pretty solid I'm sure
You may put your deck into your discard pile. You have to topdeck a card.Yeah, assume all prices are equal. And just ignore Possession.
Also: Chancellor is definitely worse than Scavenger as far as I can surmise.
Edge case where you don't want to discard you r deck and your entire discard is bad cards and you're forced to put one on top.
Scavenger says "you may" so you can just take the +$2 in that edge case.
I said that earlier! Well I said she was called Elizabeth.Báthory?
Did you try clicking on the blue text? Didya? No, because the cursor didn't change.
As a cover supervisor in schools (aka supply teacher), I've found the most frequent question I'm asked is, "Sir, what's your favourite football team." It's... interesting.I have never heard of a football team called "interesting". Are they good?
Then compare it to Steward or Count.Expand is not as bad as Scout. I guess the biggest thing I've learned about it here is that its strongest use case is probably as a terminal Gold +buy when nothing else is available.Well, anything that Jack of all Trades does, Squire, Spy, Watchtower and Chapel can do better. JoaT isn't good because it gains silver, or because it self-Spies, or because it draws up to 5, or because it trashes a non-Treasure card, but because it does all of them. Similarly, Expand is good because it's much more versatile than any of the large number of cards that do something better that Expand does.
It seems like almost every time one would get an Expand, you'd be at least as happy picking up a Graverobber, Rebuild, Remodel, Wharf, or just a Gold - but only the last of these is always on the board.
It isn't that great at anything that it does. It's just an overpriced substitute for a lot of different things on most boards. So I overstated its badness, but "anything you can do we can do better" to me seems to describe most Expand play in practice.
Jack is good because it does all of those things in the same turn. Getting a Silver AND trashing an Estate/Curse AND self-spying AND drawing a card is a lot better than the case where you have to pick just one. Jack wouldn't be that great if you had to pick just one every time - actually, it would suck pretty hard. Expand makes you pick just one. If Expand let you trash 2-3 cards and gain one costing up to $3 more for each trashed, then that would be a whole other story...

I heard they're coming out with a way to have music on your personal computer soon. That might help.
Smartass.
The main reason I'm quoting this post however is to start a quote chain with that massive image. Let's go.
