Weekly Design Contest #201: Expand the Kingdom
This week's prompt is to design a card that adds at least one extra pile to the Kingdom. The only official example so far is Young Witch.
I'll close submissions right before judging, because judging will likely not be on time; I just got engaged recently, so I might be busy with her a week from now.

Misanthropic
Trait
When you play a misanthropic card, each player may reveal a bane card from their hand. If you revealed one, then anyone who didn't reveal one gains a curse.
Setup: Add an extra kingdom pile costing $2 or $3 to the supply. Its cards are banes.

Is the idea that in games with Young Witch and this, there will be one bane pile for both?

Yes.
EDIT: What makes more sense is probably, there are 2 bane piles, and both bane piles work for both Misanthropic and YW.

Does adding additional landscapes fit the contest?
Also, congrats on the engagement!

Granary

Project
At the start of your turn, you may discard a card from your hand. If it is a Grain card or costs (http://wiki.dominionstrategy.com/images/thumb/7/7d/Coin5.png/16px-Coin5.png) or (http://wiki.dominionstrategy.com/images/thumb/6/6f/Coin6.png/16px-Coin6.png), +2 Cards.
Setup: Add an extra Kingdom card pile costing (http://wiki.dominionstrategy.com/images/thumb/3/3d/Coin2.png/16px-Coin2.png) or (http://wiki.dominionstrategy.com/images/thumb/3/32/Coin3.png/16px-Coin3.png) to the Supply. Cards from that pile are Grain cards.
Notes:
It’s best to eat something substantial, but not as big as a Province! “Grain” intentionally chosen to rhyme with “Bane”.
If you discard a Grain card that also costs $5 or $6, you still only get +2 Cards.
Edit: removed the benefit for $4 cards, following segura's comment.
-
I think that this is too flexible, it is like Shy on half or more of all Kingdom cards. Merely Labifying Grain cards should be fine and good enough.

This is a variation of an old design (https://forum.dominionstrategy.com/index.php?topic=18987.msg845057#msg845057). The idea is to mess with the normal VP ratios and make Duchies and Estates more important. The setup clause gives it an extra alt+VP notch.

I'm assuming looters aren't the spirit of this contest, even though they add a pile to the kingdom?

Looters add a pile to the supply, but not to the kingdom. Ruins are not a kingdom card.
-
Post Exchange • $6 • Night
Trash up to two cards you would discard during Clean-up for each if it is ...
a card costing $2-$4, gain a Px2 or Gold;
otherwise gain a Px1 or Silver.
-
Setup: place an unused non-split Action on Px1 and Px2 costing $2-$4 and $5 respectively.
So this adds two additional piles and a method to obtain them. :)
-
EDIT: This is an old entry, do not judge this one
Wagon | Action | $4
+2 cards +2 Actions
Return this to the Supply. Gain a Wheel.
-
Setup: Add an extra Kingdom card pile to the Supply. Its cards are Wheels.
The wheels are not restricted, they can be 5 cost cards, which sort of is like adding an even better Cheap trait, but that doesn’t break games so neither does this. Statistically, most games it will be on a 4 or cheaper.
I’m open to feedback. I’m considering bumping it up to a massive 3 actions so that it’s useable as the only village… I also want it to be motivating enough to buy sometimes even if the wheel is bad. Is that true of it right now?
open to thoughts on that and any other feedback.

I'd modify "Return this to the Supply. Gain a Wheel." to "Choose one: Exchange this for a Wheel; or discard a card." :) I'd specify that Wheel cost $5 or more than $4.

something simple
Needle Peddler
$5 - Action
+1 Card
+1 Action
+$1
Reveal the top card of your deck. If it's a Needle or a Province, put it in your hand.
-
Setup: Add an unused kingdom card to the supply to be the Needle cards.
-
JOKE ENTRY JOKE ENTRY THIS IS NOT A REAL ENTRY
Peedle Neddler
$6 - Action
+2 Cards
+1 Action
Reveal the top card of your deck. If it's a Peedle or a Province, +$1.
-
Setup: Add an unused kingdom card to the supply to be Peedles.
-

Thank you!
No, landscapes would not qualify, since they are not Kingdom piles.

You assume correctly, for the exact reasons LibraryAdventurer pointed out.

Black market gets its Non supply variant!

Casino
$5 cost, Action card.
Gain a card costing up to $5,
or a Lucky card.
If the card costed $5 or more, trash this.
-
Setup: Add an extra Kingdom pile with unused Non-Supply cards to the Supply and shuffle that pile. Its cards are Lucky.
(cards that would say "return this to its pile"Are put on the bottom of the lucky pile.)
Im unsure if i should limit each non-supply card to have two copies allowed in the Lucky pile, cause its gonna be massive as heck probably.
-
I think that this is a $4. Less selection than BM and otherwise just a Workshop/Feast.
-
Buying cards from the Lucky pile is probably turbo swingy when Prizes come up. Or even wish or madman.

Thought it could be interesting to have a card where the extra card isn't directly tied to it, but just adds a little extra for the card to do, in this case guaranteeing an extra choice of a card you can gain with it.

Pay the ratcatcher or he'll bring the rats right back! Thought it could be interesting to have a card where the extra card isn't directly tied to it, but just adds a little extra for the card to do, in this case guaranteeing an extra choice of a card you can gain with it.
FYI there is already an official card named Ratcatcher (https://wiki.dominionstrategy.com/index.php/Ratcatcher). Also, heads up that I had separately came up with a card “Pied Piper” with a similar theme but a very different effect. I’m waiting for some time to mock up a card image.
-
Yeah, not sure how I messed that one up! I'll fix the name, and make sure not to also use Pied Piper.

Pied Piper
$4 - Action
+2 Cards
You may play an Action costing $2 or $3 from your hand. If you don’t, +1 Buy.
-
Setup: Add an extra Action Kingdom pile costing $2 or $3 to the Supply.
First the Piper lures the Mice (https://wiki.dominionstrategy.com/index.php/Way_of_the_Mouse) into the kingdom. The buy helps get them into your deck; the draw helps get them into your hand. And finally, the Piper puts them into play.

It's a little wordy and complex for my taste, but I'm pretty happy with it.
The part of the card not involving Collateral tried out a few different bonuses, but I couldn't come up with one that really worked until now. The card really wanted to be a $5 and none of the vanillas really fit.
It'd be fun to see Settlers or Gardens or something as the Collateral; lots of variety there.

It should have an "or reveals their hand" honesty check clause if they cannot discard a Collateral. Unfortunately, that adds a lot of words.

Ahh, does "if possible" not do enough here? With "or reveals a hand with no Collateral" in the FAQ?

Villain (https://wiki.dominionstrategy.com/index.php/Villain) uses “(or reveals they can't).” There aren’t any official cards that use “if possible.”

Terminal 4 Coins Silver junker with a discard Attack? Does too much and is too strong.

At worst, +1 Buy and gain a card costing up to $3. At best, it can do a lot more for you. Simple, but doesn't need to be complicated.
Clarification: The "buy a card from the Supply" is not optional, but doesn't cost a Buy.

My new submission

Metal Worker | Action | $5
Trash a card from your hand and gain a card costing up to $2 more than it.
When you gain this, gain a Metal
Setup: Add an extra kingdom pile costing $2 or $3 to the supply. Its cards are Metals.
A remodel that comes with something to remodel. A $3 is good because you can remodel it to 5 costs. A 2 is good because it gives you something in the supply to remodel your coppers into. And if it's a card you don't want to trash, well then you get one for free when you get a Metal Worker!

The winner is Pied Piper by SignError.
Full judgement will come whenever I have time for it.

Thanks for the great contest and the win. I’ll get the next contest up later today, but as a sneak peak,
it will have something to do with the card Rats (https://wiki.dominionstrategy.com/index.php/Rats).
Edit: Actually, I changed my mind. There’s a new errata (https://forum.dominionstrategy.com/index.php?topic=21794.0) coming, so let’s do a contest for that.
