I get off to a start I'm comfortable with. I don't like coheed's opening (Tactician/Secret Chamber), but end up picking up a both cards myself later in the game. coheed spends too much time trimming Coppers out of his deck (with Steward and a Spice Merchant) and by the time he's got his deck humming I'm way ahead on Colonies and Platinums.

I stupidly decide to mirror coheed from second player in a University rush for Minions. Not sure if there was a better strategy, but I probably should have looked for one because combined with some unfortunate shuffle luck he had 5 Minions before I managed to get one. Once that happened, it was pretty much decided.

I try for a simple Hunting Party engine with Trading Post to trim the Coppers and Estates out of my deck. coheed sees the potential of Bridge/City and decides to go for that combo. I feel comfortable for awhile racking up 4 Provinces, until he finally whittles down the Hunting Parties and Cities and proceeds to obliterate me in a super turn.

I try to do something fancy when I shouldn't and get my ass handed to me in this blowout. coheed gets a lucky $5 opening picking up a Witch (smart). I get excited about building a Minion/Conspirator/Scrying Pool/Bridge engine and decide that Steward is good enough to counter the Curses that will be coming into my deck (stupid). I like my deck if this hadn't been a Curse game, but by the time I had my deck going he had locked up half the points on the board even though he was struggling to close out the Provinces. So I resigned.

Not seeing any cheap Villages I decide Torturer isn't going to be an issue (wrong) coheed builds a Nobles/Torturer chain, that isn't amazing. It takes him awhile to build it up, but it's enough to win him the game. I do manage to get my Conspirator/Wishing Well/Nobles engine going, but it's nothing to write home about and, by the time it gets going, coheed is able to easily end the game on piles by buying up the Curses.

A little despondent to have lost 4 straight games and the set I was glad to see this board. I like the Island/Ironworks combo to start (I open Masquerade/Ironworks) and coheed misses it (he opens Masquerade/Silver) at the start and ends up following my lead later in the game. I also like Governor's draw combined with Minions, though I never end up playing it. coheed ends up picking up a Secret Chamber, which kills some of his key hands in the midgame as things like this happened a few times:
Jorbles plays Minion
coheed reveals a Secret Chamber
coheed puts two Governors on top of his deck (betting that I'll be ditching my hand)
Jorbles takes $2 (leaving coheed with a garbage hand)
coheed's Governor play ended up flooding my hands with extra cards too, which greatly helped me. I felt pretty comfortable throughout this one even though I had to pass him some Silvers with Masquerade a couple times.

http://dominion.isotropic.org/gamelog/201204/02/game-20120402-181925-30dd1b46.htmlKey Cards: Familiar, Saboteur, Steward, Caravan, City
coheed opens Saboteur/- and I open Steward/Potion gunning for Familiars. His Sab, manages to hit my first Potion, but I rebuy and eventually I'm rewarded by flooding his deck with Curses. His Saboteur is exceptionally annoying, but playing it hurts his economy as much as mine and once I start putting Curses into his deck I get to catch up. coheed mounts a comeback buying Cities up anticipating the end of the Curse pile. Luckily for me Caravans are low enough that I can sneak the third-pile once he activates his Cities and falls $1 short of being able to tie it.
Phew. What a match, it was quickly apparent that coheed was much better with Intrigue than I am as I only managed to win games that relied on cards from other sets (Colony games and the Familiar game). I felt like I had some bad early shuffle luck in game 2, but aside from that he completely outplayed me in his victories. GGs coheed.
