Does scum!faust buddy up to townies? He's definitely the player i'm getting the strongest emotional response from and I'm wondering how calculated that's likely to be, having never played with the guy before.

It's interesting watching this mix of players who have all played before (and thus, have ideas on how others players play).

Is this anyone else's first game? My tendency would be to reveal as little as possible. I di think revealing to District partners is not a good idea - in that case scum learn everything, townies limited.

I don't think we should PR claim right off the bat, when has that ever worked out for us? It just gives scum info on which townies got the best PRs to kill first.

I think I'm with Ash on round claiming though, it is good information and may help us narrow down to a lynch.

So, in the books, the kids (tributes) are nominated from each district and then they have to fight to the death. So, in all kinds of ways literally anyone is a killer.  There are districts that have better training than others (the rich ones) so they are more lethal, but not more "scummy" really because they all have to kill one another.

In that later books and movies, there are forces in the government that seek to maintain their power through awful means but those aren't the tributes.

i'd wager that character is 100% linked to item and not at all to alignment. we could have a town snow or a scum katniss.

to me it's not looking like the mechanics (outside how individual roles work) have anything particularly to do with the hunger games, just the flavor.

e.g. we don't have to kill each other until there's only one of us left.
