What's your record for most activated Menageries in a row? By that, I mean, you play a Menagerie, then you play another Menagerie immediately. Nothing in between. They all have to activate.

KC+Menage is three Menages. It can start a sequence, then you can play more Menages afterward, but not before.

Of course it requires a bit of luck, but I want to know what the limit is.

My record is 3, I've done it many times but I'm too lazy to go find a log. I've never been able to KC+Menage and have them all trigger, though. Something about having too many King's Courts.

hmmm, this is probably easiest if you start by discarding all your cards, then play menagerie. After 4 you'll have a 9 cards in hand, so playing more than 5 is difficult.

On a completely separate note: is there a way to play solo dominion on goko? we could start doing solo challenges again, and there's a few things I've wanted to try out. One thing would be is to try to play 6 menageries in a row, activated. you'd probably use ruins, shelters, and prizes, trashing, and the perfect number of menageries.

I thought I saw somewhere that you can play solitaire in the Secret Chamber room, but I can't back that up. Solo Challenge would be a fun thing to do for this. I might have to refine my definition of "Activate" by saying that it must draw all 3 cards.

Theoretical max is 12 (KC+Menage, then 9 Menages). I wonder if someone could actually pull it off. I wonder what the odds of that are with an ideal setup, probably not good. So many unique cards you need!

You can get 46 unique cards without resorting Black Market.

Why not 10 KCed menageries?

Because there needs to be a Menagerie still in the supply in order to BoM it, and the puzzle specification says you aren't allowed to do things (such as Workshop the last Menagerie) in between.

Also, 19 is exactly the maximum number of action cards you can King without also using Throne Room or Procession, though it looks like wero's kingdom has room for both of those.

To be clear, while I enjoy this discussion of the Solo Challenge and puzzle aspect of this, the purpose of this thread was to see who was able to do this in a game to some success. Perhaps the other discussion should be placed in those boards? My apologies if I've offended anyone.

I knew I'd had some fun with menagerie so I went back to look at some of my old logs (is it actually possible to look at iso logs without getting nostalgic?) and after finding a ton of games with 3 in a turn I found a glorious 3-player game where I just went crazy. Turn 13 features 6 activated menageries (not all of them draw me 3 cards). A couple other turns features 4 or 5. No black market!

Oh hey look I totally misread the OP. They weren't all in a row in that game, which makes getting 6 a lot more trivial. I did still do it 4 times in a row on that turn though!

Edit: aw man, on closer inspection of the log I played a festival after the second menagerie.

It should be easy, if you were shooting just for it you could go like crazy on the black market, trash cards, and play a bunch of them.

I bet the best way to actually do this in a game is to majorly overbuy a Herald so that you can setup your deck for perfect drawing. You might even be able to hit the theoretical limit of activated Menageries if you try hard enough. Of course, this would require Black Market to get enough unique cards, which Goko doesn't have yet. I'm sure you could get to 40+ cards drawn allowable by the maximum unique cards you can get on Goko.

It would be fun to try to do this. It would require a mega turn to overbuy Herald by the $100+ you need to arrange that many cards. But, you'd have to be careful, since you need all those cards in your discard pile to pull it off. I'm guessing something like Scrying Pool to draw the deck and Vault / Secret Chamber / Storeroom to discard it multiple times to get enough money? Or maybe since you have so many cards, playing like 5 or so Philosopher's Stones would be enough (which you could line up with something like Herald or Scavenger).

The solo challenge actually sounds like a lot of fun, but I haven't bought the cards yet so I can't try out these ideas.

Oh, is Black Market not available yet? I wouldn't know because I would never buy the card anyways

...maybe we'll do "easy mode" with no BM allowed now and we can necro it later with BM!
