Lighthouse, Alchemist, Bureaucrat, Marauder, Rats, Scout, Thief, Mystic, Rabble, Royal Seal
ugly board. I go for alchemists. My opponent buys 5 Marauders, 8 lighthouses, and 2 Scouts and wins. I didn't think she could reliably get spoils in her hand after that, but she did.
I hate it when there's no trashing.

Well, a strategy that should beat both of yours is two Marauders, a bunch of Lighthouses, and some Golds. Alchemist is very slow here and once you get it going you won't even have a good payload.

Yeah, Alchemist is too slow on its own.  That's one of the lessons I learned the hard way.  Especially with no payload and no way to get it quickly (and things to slow it down), I don't think they'll help at all.  There's no +Buy other than Ruined Markets, and there's no Villages so what you can do with it is pretty limited.

Consider Alchemist strategy here:

1) bunch of junk from opponent's Maaruders
2) no trashing at all
3) no source of +buy, except Ruined Market

1) and 2) mean you're going to be very slow with setting up your Alchemist chain, while 3) means that once you do set it up, your payload can be only 1 Province per turn. Overall, not worth it.

I agree with pubby here: buy two Marauders, several Lighthouses and money. Spoils from Marauders will also help in your money stretegy.
