What this forum really needs is a "Look at me while I KC this Bridge and then buy many green cards" topic to collect all of these uninteresting logs together in one easily avoidable place.

I think what we really really need is a hole for all of the people who post uninteresting comments about "uninteresting" things.

Hey you know what's awesome? Silk Road!
Hey you know what's neat? Silk Road!
Hey you know what's really cool? Silk Road!
Silk Road is a gnarly card!
Silk Road is a tubular card!
Silk Road is a rad card!
The awesomesauce of Silk Road is not to be underrated.
I bet you wouldn't guess, but I like Silk Road.
Silk Road is boss.
Silk Road is wizard.
Silk Road. Is. Silk. Road.

Tired of reading that yet? Yeah, I'm tired of reading "Hey I played King's Courts and a jillion bridges and bought EVERYTHING." I mean, it's not that it's not cool, it's just that I've read it dozens and dozens of times... it loses its lustre.

Maybe you should read the forums before posting next time.

And that's just the Game Reports subforum. I'm willing to bet there's more in the comments on the blog, possibly in the blog articles themselves, the general Dominion subforum and the articles subforum at a mnimum. There's also all of the game reports I went past that I haven't linked to here that were just the same thing but with Bridge replaced with Goons, which achieves pretty much the same result. I don't want to sound rude or upset you or anything, but man this is old news and we've all done it so many times that it's just not that interesting anymore.

In some of the posts I've linked above, people justify posting these logs because they were 7-0 down in Provinces at the time, or they not only bought out the whole Province stack but also every single green card available or whatever else. I guess that makes them a little more unique and maybe that makes them interesting, but at the end of the day, it's still the same thing.

KC-KC-Bridge-Bridge-Bridge is a powerful combo. It's just not an interesting game report anymore.

seriously? really?  You came to this thread to find something new and engaging?  I thought this was the fun forum.  Maybe there should be a science journal section for all of the jaded pros to drop dissertations and theories. Let the small minded folk have their cake.

On the one hand, these are somewhat common.

On the other, if you get bored by them, you can easily ignore them.  Everyone's first KC-KC-Bridge is pretty awesome.

Yes, I came to this thread to find something new and engaging which is exactly why I go to every thread on this forum. And no, I don't see anywhere that says this is "the fun forum", what I can see is that it is the "game reports" subforum in the "Dominion Strategy" forum. Now, I may be missing something but if this is a game report then... well... I can't find the report. And I don't really see the strategy discussion either.

What exactly do you want us to say here other than "wow you are so amazing because you played a very well known combo and won the game!"? I just don't get it.

Ninja'd. Not deleting my post. I'd ignore them if the topic title told me in advance it was going to be a KC-Bridge game report without any report attatched to it.

fair enough, but; George Carlin said: "Inside every cynical person, there is a disappointed idealist", and I agree.

Since my first post here was a KC-game, too, I didn't say "oh man, KC Bridge again". I asked something different - where is the luck here? Did I miss it? No cynicism on my side.

Maybe what the forum needs is a guideline on how to title threads or make OPs.

I think the problem people have with this thread is they clicked on it expecting to find something about luck, and it appears to be a mass bridge mega-turn from a dominating position (at least 7 fully-leveled cities). If there is something really lucky in here, it's hard to spot, and you should mention it in the OP. Don't put "pure luck" as the title and never use the word "luck" in the OP.

And if you post just a quote from the game log without even the full log or any description, it's not unreasonable to expect it to be "new and engaging", since if it's not, then there's really nowhere for the thread to go... If you had some description directing discussion, or a full log showing how you got there, maybe there'd be something else. But as is... well, you can see where the thread went...

Now if the title is "my first/biggest/[other adjective] bridge mega-turn", people who dislike this can appropriately ignore it, and there will be no disappointment or confusion upon reading the thread.

Yeah, I'm with you.  Dude's got double-activated Cities with, unless I miscounted, an 8-2 City-split.  That's gg.  You don't need luck to win then.  Your opponent needed to not allow that to happen.
