Regardless of how you go about it, your hard cap from Rats / Ritual is 40 VP, and the kind of cards that enable the golden deck (Chapel / Steward / etc) also enable much bigger engines. I could see it as part of an engine payload though? Definitely niche and not dominant.

There are 20 Rats in the supply, so you can net up to 60 VP. The one exception is if you are playing with just two players, in which case there will only be 10 curses.

We all know that a new one of us is gained each time we play a game.

Lord Rattington here  ::)

I want to apologize profusely for abusing the "make opponent resign" bug so many times. I'm sure that must have been almost as frustrating as boards with Chapel.

Just had a great Lord Rattington moment. Chapel/Mountebank board. He gets super lucky and opens 5/2. Turn 1, he plays his. 5 Coppers and.... he buys a Chapel.

Don't worry about it. I usually have several games going at once, so I hardly even notice.

Is there anyway to read the descriptions of the cards in game while playing?

Right-click.

Ah, that works with a mouse. I don't suppose there is anyway with a tablet?

By strongest I mean best value for money, i.e. strongest effect for it's price.

Obviously it's Diadem cus it costs $0!
Oh man, I didn't think about that...

Except you can't gain it without Tournament.

This is why Thief is such a powerful card.

I was going to vote Silver but it wasn't there.

Do you want me to add the base treasures?

Don't forget Potion

I was thinking of the smallest nonnegative zero of cosine.

Sure, but cosine is a somewhat arbitrary function to start with. Well, it's the even part of e^x, which is kind of special.

The analytical definition actually defines pi/2.

Which definition are you thinking of? One of the simplest analytical definitions for "pi" that I can think of is that it is the period of any (nonzero) solution to y'' = -y. This definition yields tau.

By the way, is it just me or is pi as 3,1516... a really unlikely definition and 6,303... would be more practical for most purposes, and most likely what would be done if it were defined today?

I wouldn't use either of those  ;)

But more seriously, I think that tau is often more useful for theoretical work, but for practicality it sure is a lot more convenient to measure the diameter of a circle than it is to measure the radius. Hell, even finding the center of a circle can be a pain.

Kirian is probably referring to the result from https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Euler_product#Notable_constants

Edit: Looks like an explanation that generalizes requires more math than I know. An easier justification is at http://www.cut-the-knot.org/proofs/AfterEulerProduct.shtml. The idea is that you start with the Leibniz formula, and note that every odd number equal to 1 mod 4 must be the product of an even number of (not necessarily distinct) primes that are 3 mod 4.

Another connection is that the Riemann Zeta function may be expressed in terms of primes, and when evaluate at s=2 you get (pi^2)/6

Oh wow, it is so nice to hear that these two are making a new online dominion service. Maybe I should take up the hobby again.

Well you *do* need a hobby...

Are you suggesting I give cookie clicker another chance?

We haven't talked about metric vs. imperial enough.

This is silly.  Those are just the definitions (at least historically) of those SI units.  Obviously the units will look easy to use when applied to their own definition.

Brown is a terrible way to describe a wristwatch... Because I would hazard a guess at somewhere around 30% of watches have a brown strap.  However, a brown face is much less common.  Also, it's easy enough to find the brand of the watch, seeing as it's usually on the face...

Also, I need an excuse to post in this thread so I can be notified of the new random stuff going on

Generally with a "lost and found" email you don't describe all of the identifying properties.  You announce that you have found a brown wristwatch, and then when someone claims that the watch is theirs, you ask them for the brand name or other identifying information in order to confirm that it is really their watch and that someone isn't just claiming a free watch.

Okay so is there a minimum standard for the films involved, or the role a person played, for a Bacon number to count? Because if not my Bacon number is 3:

Kevin Bacon was in The Big Picture (1989) with John Cleese
John Cleese was in Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone (2001) with my friend who was an extra
My friend who was an extra was in various mini-films made at our summer camp with me.

And you're in YouTube videos with NoMoreFun, Joseph, and RTT.
