Also, the NFL has also said that the 50th Superbowl will be called "Superbowl 50", rather than "Superbowl L", apparently for aesthetic reasons, so there's other support out there.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure Arabic numerals are actually Indian. The West encountered them in Egypt or Persia or something, that's why we call them Arabic numerals.

yes, you're right. In fact, I looked here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arabic_numerals#Origins before I posted that. However, if I had read further (or really at all)... I would have seen in the third paragraph that it agreed with you.

Arabic numerals all the way. I loved Roman Numerals when I was younger, and even tried a little arithmetic with 'em.

Now, it just sucks cause it takes me about as long to read them as an analogue clock (read, too long).

I prefer roman numerals for sure, but since arabic numerals narrowly won this biased poll, I am spelling the number out in my game. M47 looks ugly, to me.

I've updated the historical list to arabic numerals.

As for consistency, the other categories (RMM, etc.) have used arabic numerals forever.

I just want numbers where I can look at the number and actually know what number it is. I can't do that with Roman numerals beyond like XXX. It just takes too much time mentally and it's pointless.
