Just played a game on goko dominion and when my opponent used pirate ship against me, and I had the market square, I could not discard it to receive a gold.

The market square says that whenever one of my cards are trashed, it can be discarded for one gold. The pirate ship card simply forces a player to trash a treasure of his. So theoretically you should be able to discard the market square in reaction to a successful pirate ship attack.

If you have a Market Square already in hand, and your opponent plays a Pirate Ship, attacks forcing you to reveal your top cards, and one of those cards in a Treasure, then yes.  You should trash one of those Treasures, and then at that moment you may discard the Market Square from your hand and gain a Gold if there are any left in the Gold pile.

Point is, goko didn't allow this.

I'm assuming that a treasure was revealed in the top 2 cards of your deck? You didn't specifically say that any treasure was trashed, just that he used Pirate Ship on you.

I tested this ok Goko, and when the opponent played a Pirate Ship and trashed one of my Treasures, I was able to discard Market Square and gain a gold.
