Counting House, Sage, and Upgrade?

So I was looking at counting house yesterday, and noticed something interesting. I then looked through all the other cards, well most of the other cards, and I now have this.

1. Counting House
2. Sage
3. Upgrade
4. Knights Randomizer

What do these four have in common?

Hint:
1. It has nothing to Do with what the card does.

hmmmm.... counting house and upgrade both have the same artist, so I think it has something to do with the picture...
counting house and sage both have people writing in books.

aha! I think I got it:

they all have a dominion related thing. In counting house, there is a victory point symbol on the wall. In sage, one of the books has the dominion "D" on it. And in upgrade there is again a victory point symbol for a shield that they guy in the tower on the right has.

Maybe you found Counting House ending in E so interesting that you missed most of the other cards!

Another gag is on Crossroads.
One of the signs points towards Essen, where a renowned german board game convention takes place. I can't decipher the other sign, though.

IIRC the other one leads to Rio Grande, but I'm not sure, I don't have high resolution Goko images on the PC I'm using now

Thanks to the card arts thread i was able to finally decipher Crossroads, and the two signs point to Essen and Rio Rancho (whatever that is...). Stash, by the way, shows the laurel branches of the "Spiel des Jahres" award to which it is dedicated. I don't know if you should count that - probably not. Just noticed it and thought it was a nice touch with this being the (if there's one) appropriate thread to mention it.
