A Riddle in Three Turns

Let's gather 'round and take a seat.
It's time to play a game so sweet.

I draw hand one, what do I see?
There's Coppers two and green cards three.
I shrug my shoulders, give a sigh,
With buy unspent, I draw my five.
And what a sight do I behold,
I've drawn enough to buy a Gold!
But right before the card is bought,
My perfect hand has gone for naught.
This wasted turn I now deplore,
I nary silver can afford.
And second turn ends like the first,
With Coppers played, but undispersed.
Begin turn three and I lose heart.
My deck's the same as at the start.

What happened to produce this show?
For you to guess and me to know.

It could work in a 5-player game if the others open Noble Brigand, Embassy, Torturer, Torturer. Of course it would require you to choose to discard rather than taking Curses.

Edit: forget Embassy, it says your deck's the same, unless you throw in a Saboteur between your turns 2 and 3. Maybe Council Room instead, although it seems to imply that you hit 6 with only 5 cards. If this is true, Embassy + Saboteur, otherwise Council Room.

That's pretty close to what I had in mind. But let's just say I don't have any choice in the matter.

Without reading Jimmmmm's post, here's my guess.

Player 1 draws 5 coppers.
Player 2 draws 5 coppers.
Player 3 draws 5 coppers.
You draw 2 coppers and 3 estates.

Player 1 opens Noble Brigand. Everyone else now has 3 cards in their deck, and will reshuffle when drawing their second hand.
Player 2 opens Minion. He draws three estates, reshuffles, and draws his Minion.
Player 3 opens Embassy. He reshuffles and immediately draws his Embassy. You gain a silver.
Your turn! You buy nothing with your two coppers. You draw three coppers, reshuffle, and draw a silver and a copper! W00t! You have enough for a gold! You have five cards in your hand, six in your deck (3 copper, 3 estate), none in discard.

Player 1 does something.
Player 2 plays his Minion! You're screwed! You discard your hand and draw two estates and two coppers. You have two cards left in your deck, neither of which is your silver, and one of which is a copper. But then Player 2 uses his new Minioned hand to buy a Noble Brigand! You now have no cards in your deck, and your Silver is still in your discard.
Player 3 plays his Embassy, which gives him enough coin to buy another Noble Brigand, which steals your Silver!
You do nothing on your turn, and are back to where you started.

Yes! After a few edits, I think I got it, even with the right number of cards in deck and discard, I think!

Also, nicely done with the poetry. I like it.

Okay then, if we get rid of Torturers, we'll replace them with a Militia and Cutpurse/s. Embassy gives you 4 Coppers + 1 Silver. So the Militia gets rid of two Coppers, then two Cutpurses are needed. Council Room gives you 6 Coppers, so you only need one Cutpurse.

Player 1 buys Noble Brigand.
Player 2 buys Embassy.
Player 3 buys Militia.
Player 4 buys Cutpurse.
Player 5 buys Cutpurse.
You do nothing.

Player 2 plays Embassy, buys Saboteur.
Player 3 plays Militia.
Player 4 plays Cutpurse.
Player 5 plays Cutpurse.
You do nothing.

Player 2 plays Saboteur.

OR

Player 1 buys Noble Brigand.
Player 2 buys Council Room.
Player 3 buys Militia.
Player 4 buys Cutpurse.
You do nothing.

Player 2 plays Council Room.
Player 3 plays Militia.
Player 4 plays Cutpurse.
You do nothing.

Edit: @ftl: Nice work with Minion, it never occurred to me. Much nicer than Militia + Cutpurse.

I like yours too. I felt like to make mine work, I really had to spam lots and lots of noble brigands whereas your second one seems cleaner.

Any puzzle in the form of a poem gets kudos from me. :)

Below's my solution intended
For how this game started and ended,
Which ftl got:
On his first shot.
With just one little detail amended.

....ok I'm done now. Sorry.

Turn 1
Player 1 buy Noble Brigand
Player 2 buys Minion and draws it immediately.
Player 3 buys Embassy giving me a silver
Player 4 (me) does nothing. Draws Silver, 4 Coppers
Turn 2
Player 1 buys a Wishing Well (for reasons unrelated to the puzzle solution)
Player 2 plays Minion discarding my awesome hand.
Player 3 doesn't buy another Embassy.
Player 4 (me) curses his luck. Doesn't draw his silver.
Turn 3
Player 1 plays Noble Brigand, stealing my Silver.

I start my third turn with 7 Coppers and 3 Estates in my deck.

While I applaud ftl's effort to get back to the original game state exactly, I'm not sure you have. After you draw your hand for turn 3 you have 5 cards in hand and 5 in discard instead of 5 in draw, since you don't trigger a reshuffle. We could get back to the exact starting conditions by having a 5th player before I go play another Noble Brigand. Now I have to reshuffle upon drawing my new hand. And the new hand can even be 3 Estates, 2 Copper if you'd like.

@Jimmmmm - I don't know if your solution technically counts since the puzzle seems to imply that I have enough to buy Gold with the five cards I've drawn. But I'm not one to split hairs and it is a clever solution. So I'll give it to you.

I mentioned that in the edit of my first post, and so gave two solutions in my second post. So for my first solution, if you replace the Militia + Cutpurses with the much more elegant Minion and get rid of the Saboteur (We have Noble Brigand for that, duh!), you have it.
