You get +1 coin, +1 vp first, then get 4 vp from "half cost of peddler" for a total of 5 vp.

Only problem, if you play bridge BEFORE you play bishop to trash a peddler, you will get 3 + 1 VP (as peddler now costs 7)

I thought the idea was you pair Bishop with any cost-reducer to buy big cards for cheap and then trash them for lots of points. Bridge is fine for this since in general you can play non-drawing terminals in whatever order you want so you just always play Bridges after Bishops.

Similarly Highway is not listed because you have less control over when you play it and you'll likely end up trashing a lot of things for too few points to make the whole operation worth it.
