Over the last day or two the ratings of the Bots seems to have dropped significantly. Several of them used to be close to 4000, but now most of them are below 3000. Any idea what happened?

i just wonder why serf bot has a rating of 0.

I just played a game with him and he played decent. not strong or anything but i didnt see any BIIIG Mistakes.

Presumably rating decay is affecting them as well.

Serf bot frequently buys random cards. Sometimes it gets lucky and pretends to have a strategy.

I expect that if a population reach an equilibrium with their ratings and then part of the population has their rating lowered, a new equilibrium will form as the population play more matches with all the ratings lower than before.

While I have no problem with the general level of the bots, I think it would be nice if they programmed a few bots with a higher level. For instance, I'm sure it would be possible to program a X-Big Money bot that would be fairly hard to beat for anyone not very adept at building a nice engine. Infact, I'd very much like to practice against such a bot.

That is essentially the banker bot.

Banker Bot loves Kingdom Treasure cards. I've always seen that as his schtick.

I've always had the most trouble with Conqueror Bot. She does not f*** around, and her Duchy dancing is usually quite good. Normally I play her whenever I create a custom game against a bot.

They seem to be back at more "normal" rating levels now.

I think Conqueror Bot is the one I have the worst record against, although I'm not entirely sure. They should have a stats page for stuff like that. On the other hand I think my record against Lord Bottington is good (for a player of my limited skill level).

I remember reading one of the goko staff saying that the serf bot actually has a negative rating and that it's just displayed as "0" so as not to confuse people. I think it's programmed to play randomly, which I suppose once in a while looks like an actual strategy on the right board.
