Of course we all knew this.... but just had a really fun IRL game.
Vagrant
Menagerie
Rats
Knights
Bandit Camp
Junk Dealer
Cultist
Council Room
Mystic
Fairgrounds
Lots of great combos... Vagrant + Mystic; Menagerie + Dark Ages; Rats + Junk Dealer; Rats as defense against Knights.
So I ended up buying everything on the board except for... Cultist. The Menageries and Vagrants just made them not worth it. However, even without Cultist getting bought ever, I DID end up with all 10 Ruins... because I chose to buy them. Only a few at first; just to get differently named cards for Menageries, then the rest to end the game. I ended up with 4 Knights, 4 types of Ruins (no Ruined Library to be had!), and every other type of card available except Cultist... Also kept all my Shelters. 27 differently named cards; with 7 Fairgrounds.
More than once I trashed a Spoils to Junk Dealer to power up Menagerie. Also note the lack of good + buy... I got a Council Room JUST for the +buy early on; even though I didn't want to draw cards with it in general. But then I got Sir Martin and a Ruined Market. If there had just been a Ruined Library available, I would have had 30 unique cards total (would have bought a Curse and Cultist).
