Evidence of thriving towns, Pottery, roads, and a centralized government amaze the startled scientists.

Finally, they come upon a stone tablet, which contains but one mysterious phrase!

So you're just going to keep begging...

Also, Watno took the 4 wood and I was sad.  Why is Wood so hard to get in this game?  From what I read, Clay was supposed to be more difficult.  I actually have an improvement that would have given me wood, but it seemed like such a weak one, and would be especially this late in the game.  Personal Forest or something... Costs 2 food, and it only gives 1 wood on each even round?  Seems like wretched little.  Now I kind of wish I had pushed to get it going early though.  Even a little bit of wood would have been nice.

I won't beg this round. 2 adult family members + 2 newborns = 6 Food at harvest. I currently have 3 Food, but my Basketmaker's Workshop will turn my 1 Reed into the remaining 3 Food I need.

Btw, the excess of clay is because of the 3 clay space, which only appears in 5p I think.

How much does renovation cost?  And I hope it wasn't a mistake to build out to 5 rooms.  :o

Edit:

Also, is there any reason for building the house in this shape?  I was originally going to put the fourth and fifth rooms in the bottom right, with the ideal plan to be 4 fields in the top and 3x2 pastures in the bottom.  But then I decided to follow you guys... I suppose the idea is that, if I need to use up the rest of the spaces in a pinch, I can extend my fences to the left to use up extra space?  I can still plow there too, of course.  Is that it?

Watno.

Renovation costs 1 Reed + 1 X/room, where X is Clay if upgrading Wood-Clay, or Stone if upgrading Clay-Stone.

Base cost for renovating to Clay Hut/Stone House is 1 Reed + X Clay/Stone, where X is the number of rooms you have.

I edited this in before I saw you guys posted.  Comments?

So for a 5 room to clay, 5 clay.  That sounds actually doable.  Just 1 reed for everything, or 1 reed per room?

Just 1 Reed for everything. Or in your case, 1 Reed or 1 Clay (Clay Roof).

I do my house like this because when I can get all 15 fences down, I like it to be a 2x3 rectangle where 2 pastures are 2 squares and 2 pastures are 1 square. I usually start plowing from the bottom right corner, then my plowed fields meet my hut/house along the top row; sometimes I get 5 fields and 4 rooms, and vice versa.

I don't remember if it matters too much, I think you can usually use your Fences efficiently with either house layout. Just don't like jut out in the middle row, that's probably no good :P
