Lots of them suck.  I find some of them funny.

I thought the gamefaqs prank on the frontpage of reddit is in good taste.

You have no sense of humor. I love pranks.

The ones that are good tend to make up for the ones that are bad.  I thought last year's switch of /r/nfl and /r/soccer was brilliant; ditto for things like /r/starcraft today.

Plus isn't it cool to finally see Forum Games post counts?  :-)

I tweeted about this earlier. Cling film over the toilet and tying peoples' shoe laces together is funny. Every website on the internet pretending they are making a big change that is the exact opposite of what 99% of their userbase want is not. It's predictable and just gets in the way of real content.

Wow, yeah, it fell off the front page already.

Just visit gamefaqs.  The daily poll is a prank.

I agree. Usually there are like one or two good jokes, but when you've already seen the hundred bad ones, no joke is good enough to make you fall for it. The best I've seen this year was from Varusteleka, whose joke was actually real.

Wow, 3,500 posts. I wonder how much that will drop tomorrow.

Next yeah theory, you need to post an article about "the untapped potential of the power card Scout."

Also the GFaqs one got me for a few seconds, since it was one of the first sites I visited this morning.

But not strictly better, because the spinoff can have a different cost than the expansion.

Thinkgeek usually has some pretty amusing joke items that they list for sale. One of my favorites was a betamax to HD-DVD converter just a short while after Toshiba discontinued HD-DVDs.

I want to see more sites/companies make real big announcements/releases on April 1st. I remember one year there was a long-anticipated Dwarf Fortress update that came out on April 1st and it was made all the more memorable because so many people thought it was a joke at first.

Google often release new products on April 1st. Like people thought Gmail was a joke at first, because it offered ridiculous level storage, but it wasn't.

I'm not a huge fan, as anything real necessarily gets lost in the background.  Subtle changes, though are more amusing.  The change to number of posts here is more amusing than any of this year's ThinkGeek stuff.

On a video gaming website they had a poll saying, "How do you feel about EA's announced corporate takeover of Nintendo?"  There was different answers, and the last one was "Not funny guys, I forgot what today was, and you about gave me a heart attack."

Quite amusing the report they had replaced Tyrion with Willow!

I can't stand Willow, he is second on my list of all time 'people on TV I cannot stand'

My personal favourite is usually Wikipedia's front page, because of the amount of work that goes into making most of it look like some stupid April Fool's joke while still all being technically correct.

What do you mean?  I must have missed it.  The "on this day" says it's April 2 now.  Still April 1 where I am though.
