A bit of info from Donald

I don't think there are any player mats this time.

As usual, I am not going to be giving away much information now beyond that terse paragraph describing the mechanics, but I will tell you that a single card from Guilds suffices to do whatever that card does; you do not need multiple cards from Guilds in a game.

I think that implies that the 7 extra cards are most likely occupations. If you only need one Guilds card out, most likely that causes it for the 7 Guilds to be for purchase. Also, on the box description, there are exactly 7 occupations listed.

I think he means the equivalent of:

"A single Smithy will draw 3 cards. You do not need any other cards to draw those 3 cards."

Right. It means that no card will allow you to spend saved-up coins unless it also has a way to give coins to save up, and vice-versa. Same with how Graverobber and Rogue have a way to get good cards into the trash.

I'm just wondering about how tokens are saved up without a player mat. Most likely this means that a card will be set aside with a number of tokens on it.

Or they could be Duration-esque, staying in play until you use it for a bonus.  If saving actual treasure instead of virtual, maybe it lets you keep treasure cards out.

Maybe you buy something like a Merchants Guild and, instead of going in your deck, it becomes a small card-sized mat to stick extra treasure to spend later (except that would make it more powerful as a Copper pseudo-trasher than a money saver).

Ah but that's where the coin tokens come in. You can't just set aside copper, that would be too good for just pseudo-trashing... But instead, you discard any number of treasure cards, and put 1 coin on the card per card discarded this way.

Were coin tokens confirmed somewhere?  I must have missed that.

donald said earlier today that the extra cards are just blanks.

Yeah, it's in the description.

I totally skipped over the word "token" there.  :-[
