What would you do on this board ?

I just played a game on goko but forgot to take the log.
So the kingdom was : Haven, Scrying Pool, Alchemist, Remake, Monument, Bandit camp, Treasury, Merchant ship, Vault, Adventurer

Bandit camp is the only village and it kind of anti-synergize with scrying pool. Remake is not really good with SP either because it turn estates into silvers...

I opened Remake-Haven (5/2  :() then bought a potion and tried something with SP - Bandit Camp -Vault - Monument but it didn't work well...

Bad luck? Looks like a defenite engine board. I think Alchemists over SP because of the Spoils? Monuments, but skip Vault as theres no +buy.

On 5/2 I think I would go for vault + haven Big Money.
Without + buy the engine is going to struggle.

The only thing that might make the engine viable is a monument stack, but with Vault to lessen the effects of greening I don't think it's viable. Would be interesting to Science, though.

And on 4/3 :P ?
If you play BM, why would you take that haven ?

The main reason in general not to take a $2 is if you might draw it dead.
Here you can discard it to vault if that happens.
And I think having 12 cards for the first shuffle gives you more draws in which you play vault and it doesn't miss the 2nd shuffle.

4/3 Potion / Silver into remake then Monument engine seems the most fun.
But silver / silver or silver / monument into vault might be better hard to tell.

Engine is always better ;)

But seriously, with SP, Bandit Camp, Alch, and Monument, in addition to Remake for trashing, there could be a pretty fantastic engine here. You shouldn't worry about Bandit Camp clogging up an SP engine, especially if you've trashed out Coppers and Estates. SP will almost always draw more cards than Alch in this kind of engine.

With 3 starting Estates, you can Remake those up to Monuments for free. You're probably opening with a Silver and maybe picking up a Monument on the reshuffle. So I feel like gaining engine components to a satisfactory degree isn't a huge problem here. Obviously the big question is whether it can outrace Vault - I think it'll be close, but Vault still isn't super-amazing-fast to 8 Provinces.

vault and haven actually synergize really well

a hand in which you draw vault with haven, you just ignore haven and play the vault (or you haven the vault away if you have good reason to believe you're drawing a silver or gold next turn and not getting to eight with the vault this turn).

a hand you draw vault alone, you play vault and aren't sad at all if it draws a haven dead

a hand you draw haven alone, you play haven; on rare occasions you're justifiably annoyed because haven draws vault, but then you just set vault aside and next turn is still better because you only need to match the vault with a silver and not a gold.

I just tried the engine in a solo game. It's almost certainly too slow to be competitive. The problem is that you can't remake into engine parts fast enough. You can get the deck thin and get your first couple of actions, but there's no good way to continue gaining $4s (Monument) and $5s (Bandit Camp).
