Taskmaster
Types: Action
Cost: 6
Do this any number of times: Play an Action card from your hand three times, then trash it.

Too crazy?

Fortress?

Nice, thanks. That's the kind of gotcha I was looking for. Thread cancelled!

How about:  ... then set is aside.  At the end of your turn, trashed all set-aside cards.

If you have a pair of Graverobbers, then can forever pull one another out of the trash, as long as you have a drawing card too.  Task Master + Graverobberx2 + 2xHunting Ground = all of the Estates, Duchies, and Provinces.

Still feels like you should have an upper limit:

Do this up to three times:

And maybe keep the second half at twice, like throne room instead? Then trash.

Maybe a mechanic like "Set aside any number of Action cards from your hand.  Play the set aside cards in any order."  That way you define right from the start which cards will be played, and things can't get so out of hand (pun intended).

Darn, I was actually going to suggest that, but actually say 'set aside any number of action cards from your hand face up. Do this until all of the set aside cards have been played: Play the top set aside card three times, then trash it.'

...spin-offs are still better for all of the previously cited reasons.
But not strictly better, because the spinoff can have a different cost than the expansion.
