Another card we've been playing with, of our own design, and it's worked pretty well in green-heavy games.

"Including this" doesn't make any sense. It's not in your hand. It's in play.

That's the reason it says "including this," so that you know this Victory card is also included when you play it, along with the ones in your hand.

"You may... any number of" is redundant, since 0 is a number.

Redundant, but helpful anyway. Note Dame Anna is "You may trash up to 2 cards from your hand", even though the "you may" is redundant, because it's a little friendlier to players who don't want to have to think through whether zero is included.

Huh, I never noticed that on Dame Anna. I'll take that into account for my own wordings. Thanks for spotting that!

Yes, this is how it should be worded. That being said.... the effect is generally worse than Secret Chamber. The 2 vp that goes with it boosts it a bit... but probably shouldn't be more than $3.

Now here's a conundrum: if Forge said "you may", would you still have to gain a Copper if you trashed nothing?

It says "Gain a card" (and there is no "if you do," clause)... but the described card to gain refers to "the trashed cards"; if you didn't exercise the option, then you haven't actually trashed an empty set of cards, and thus the card gaining fails.

I think.
