I'm cramming the combo blogs before my tournament turn today, and there are a couple of references to Venture being better than Adventurer.  Is it because it's cheaper, and a treasure card (thus not requiring a +action)?

What is so great about Minion?  Is it that you either have a good hand, so you go with the $2, or you discard and try for better?  Because the second hand is going to be smaller.  I'm mostly familiar with Minion at the receiving end.

Minion is only useful if you can get as many of them as possible. If you start a hand with 3 minions you'll play the first two for $2 each, then the third to discard your hand and hopefully keep the chain going.
