Start - Maintenance Unit, Ammo Drop, Decommissioned Hardware under Omni Cannon
Card - pass
Power - Omni Cannon -> 14 energy damage on Omnitron
Ammo Drop + Draw
Rolled 2d17 : 1, 8, total 9

End my turn

Okay, I'm all for laying into this hunk o' junk.

Play Ball Lightning

That does 7 radiant damage to Omnitron. Destroy both adaptive platings (Bunker draws cards).

Power the Hurricane!

That does 6 projectile damage to Omnitron (to mock it for not being able to adapt).

Calling upon the storm clouds menacing the primitive island, Tempest hurls lightning blasts at the sensitive components, exposed by the howling winds. As Tempest readies the final strike, he recalls that Omnitron was responsible for the death of the Wraith's father's neighbor's uncle's best friend and backs down. "After you, of course," he says, bowing.

I'm pretty sure that finishes him off, actually. But just in case it doesn't my turn is going to be:

Play Throat Jab for 3 melee damage for the further humiliation of the final blow just being a straight-up punch.

(and if that's still not enough Razor Ordinance for 6 more damage)

Final 30 HPs.
Visionary deals 4 damage with Cerebral Hemorrhage (2+1+1, pops said 5, but I think he swapped the 2 numbers on the card. Destroys Interpolation Beam.)
26HPs.
Bunker deals 14 damage with Omni-cannon. (also destroys final component)
12HPs.
Tempest deals 7 damage with Ball Lightning.
And then deals 6 Projectile damage (killing it)
0HPs.

Wraith then punches the corpse of the robot because Tempest can't really hold back even when he tries.  And flings some extra razor ordinance just to be absolutely certain it is dead.

Heroes Win!

I'll burn the mechanical corpse!

Great job everybody, well fought. I really like this game.

Oops, I missed that Visionary dealt damage. Well, we had a pretty good engine running. Twisting the Ether in the middle meant that we were less likely to conflict with our damage types, though Ra did suffer a bit of that at the end of the turn.

Good jobs.

I love this game but man, I had never played the lower level villains before and they really are quite a lot easier, even on advanced. Or maybe it's the extra time we get to plan things out over the forum. Still, good job team!

Knowing the composition of the cards helped a lot too. We were careful in our planning of the Omnitron deck. We knew there was a chance of getting both Flechettes on top, but the odds were low, and it paid off for us.

Omnitron and Baron Blade are both pretty easy. I sometimes will introduce new players to one of these villains on advanced mode. If it's a whole brand new group of players, then I'll skip the advanced mode.

Lately when we've gotten a smooth victory like this, I'll let the new players know it's not always a walk in the park by pulling out Iron Legacy next. That puts the entire game in perspective.

That's why I never use her with newbies. Same with Spite. It's not so much that they are difficult (but they can be), but they have a whole different pace to them that could turn newbies off of the game.

Iron Legacy may kick your ass, but at least you'll feel like a hero.

Honestly, she just frustrates me due to shuffle luck.  You really need the clues to come out sometime before the end of the deck.  I think we were once 15 rounds deep and -still- didn't have enough clues.

So how soon would people be up for round 3?

I'd be up for that, though I would bow out for a new player.

I was actually thinking of stepping in as mod to give theorel a break/chance to play, so there may be spots available.

I'd like to finish getting Mage Knight up and running, but then I'd be up for playing.
