http://dominion.isotropic.org/gamelog/201302/14/game-20130214-113913-05d800e4.html

cards in supply: Bank, Caravan, Golem, Jack of All Trades, Lighthouse, Nobles, Potion, Thief, Trading Post, Venture, and Village

I started 5/2, and figured Trading Post into Venture would be decently strong. So I opened Trading Post/Lighthouse. Well, that Lighthouse was the only time I hit less than $5 all game! Which is pretty cool.

(Still, I only won by 1 VP, since my opponent's Trading Post into Nobles engine was also strong.)

Well, I guess the topic is going to have to have a digression about how to reach $5 every hand, including both opening hands.  Any way to do this solo?  How about multiplayer, but where every player hits $5 each hand?

Edit: no resigning

Scavenger+stash would seem like a good candidate.

It's actually not that hard. Got it on my first try with mandarin, inn, governor.
The more impressive thing is how long it took me to get 5/2. I had tried to get 5/2 for 14 games before this log.

Actually that's not too surprising is it? In general, you have 1/6 chance of getting "5/2" instead of 4/3, but that's actually the chance of getting 5/2 or 2/5, and in this case that distinction matters. The chance of getting $5 your first turn is 1/12, so it'd be reasonable to expect 12 games to see it. 14 games isn't that much longer.

pre-post edit: ok wow now i actually opened the long, that is surprising. The way you lead up to it, I was expecting to see 5 coppers on your first turn, not that that you reshuffled until getting it on turn 51...that's like 25 games, not 14 haha

Yeah, on average 12 games or if you just play one game, the 23rd turn.
14 games and then 53rd turn is unusual.
