Philanthropist: Money for everyone, but where does it go?

Philanthropist
Action/Attack - $2
Choose one:
Each player gains a Copper, putting it on top of his deck; Each player gains a Silver; Each player gains a Gold in hand
Put any cards you gained this way in your hand

Is there a better way to word this?

It's basically either a deck slowing attack that somewhat hurts you, a terminal Silver with a bonus to everyone (like Duchess), or a cheap terminal Gold with a penalty (like Beggar).

An alternative card:

Philanthropist
Action/Attack - $4
+1 card
+1 action
Choose one; you get the version in parentheses: Each player gains a copper (in hand); or each player gains a Silver (on top of his deck); or each player gains a Gold (on the bottom of his deck)

The Copper effect is essentially a Peddler

The Silver effect is a bit of a variant on Conspirator

The bottom decking essentially means that you get the gold at the start of your next reshuffle, and you also get the ability to chain these to have a very good hand later on. I can't think of any comparisons, but it's powerful.

I like that concept of bottom decking! Very interesting implications in the midgame.

I currently imagine mail-mi wearing a dark trenchcoat and a bowler hat, hunched over a bit, toothpick in his mouth, holding a gun in his pocket.  One bead of sweat trickling down his nose.

'And what is it that ye shall hope for? Behold I say unto you that ye shall have hope through the atonement of Christ and the power of his resurrection, to be raised unto life eternal, and this because of your faith in him according to the promise." - Moroni 7:41, the Book of Mormon

Trader only gets revealed once you know what card you're gaining.

However you have to reveal Moat as soon as the Philanthropist is played, and you won't get your Gold if you do this (or have a lighthouse in play)

I wouldn't give this card the Attack type.  It's interactive, but the most damage you can do barring edge cases is give out a single Copper, and you need to gain one as well (admittedly, to your hand).  The other effects usually help your opponent.  Sure, they can hurt, but so can the Silver from Governor, or the card draw from Council Room or Governor.  Pretty much any interactive card can hurt your opponent, but that doesn't make them attacks.  Here, the interaction seems to be designed to counterbalance the bonus from the cards.  Especially the $4 cantrip Gold gaining(!).

On the "Attack" type, I wouldn't want to be protected from that with a Lighthouse.

As per his signature (which reads "I trader Feodums"), changing the gold to a silver might be a good move, at the right time.

It could be a feature though!
