Of course, Ozle's (CC's) 20 point solution remains unbeaten.

Well CC's solution was designed to get the most total points, and his deck is so powerful by the end of turn 4 that I'm pretty sure you could get way more points with a single buy if you weren't going for most total points. I can't work it out myself, but I'm almost sure that you could have either Gardens or Fairgrounds or both in your deck, so that the Colony buy increases their value as well.

I also think that CC's solution can be modifier to acquire hagglers instead of goons, since for this problem hagglers are thrice as effective as goons.

@Graystripe77: Your algorithm has a great score to complexity ratio! ;D

Hagglers are no good without Border Villages, but I think that should be possible; just replace Peddler with BV; the Peddler doesn't seem to do anything here; except to give 1 extra coin and a pile to end the game on.

So with that in mind, you can buy 1 Colony, gaining 10 Border Villages which then gain 10 Duchies.... so 40 points instead of 20.

Two of those duchies are estates in a solo game, so only 36, 32 in hard mode.

Good call.

Actually, reading over CC's solution, some of the haggler's could not be gained since they are priced differently than goons.

[...] the Peddler doesn't seem to do anything here; except to give 1 extra coin and a pile to end the game on.
When I tried to modify CC's solution, I thought that Peddler has no function either, but in the beginning of turn 4, he uses a Procession-Fortress to draw two cards and gain a Procession. One of the drawn cards is the Peddler, which is used directly afterwards to draw the gained Procession. If the Peddler were not bought, you could not have used it's cantrip effect to draw the Procession. It's incredible how optimized his solution is...

Nevertheless, I think, it is possible to replace Goons with Fairgrounds and then using the Colony buy to push them to the next level -> 30VP.

Holy crap. I was about to respond pointing out that without the Peddler, he would have just drawn whatever he used the Peddler to draw instead of the Peddler itself, then I realized what you were saying; how he didn't gain the card he needed until after those draws. Thats... just freaking amazing.
