hmmmm.... village, smithy, lab, peddler, and woodcutter all do exactly three of the basic +1 action, card, buy, money)... and all the rest have something somewhat similar, so I think it is at least a little bit related to that.
Workshop or maybe Pawn?
Well, then I'm caught between Spy, Wishing Well, andThrone Room
Oh, definitely Vagrant.
Quote from: Powerman on February 01, 2013, 04:39:31 pmOh, definitely Vagrant.ARG!!! You keep finding cards I didn't think of.And now all the sudden I thought of YET ANOTHER card I missed.... so the 2 I have that haven't been named yet:Mystic and Conspirator (both for the same reason, in fact!)
Ruins ? (except Survivors, maybe)Those could all work, but I was only thinking of Kingdom cards. Good catch, though! All the base cards except Potion, Platinum and Colony ? (not sure about Curse)See above. All 0-4$ Action cards as honorable mentionsNot quite sure what you were thinking with this one...Worker's Village ? Young witch/Witch/Followers ? Contraband ?
Shanty Town?
Quote from: heron on February 02, 2013, 05:19:05 pmShanty Town?I'd give an honorable mention for that one... for 2 separate reasons, in fact.

I mean, the criteria of this puzzle is a little subjective, which is why Hamlet and Oasis have * next to them. You could also argue that Courtyard fits the list. I was only planning on including Kingdom Cards, though.
Bomb, Cannon, and many of the Gunpowder cards can strongly effect gameplay, particularly in a destructive way

After you draw 3 cards, it's generally considered a drawback of the card that you have to put one back on top of your deck. Enough of a drawback that it's a $2 card instead of a $4 card. But I only listed it as honorable mention because there are times that you'd rather put a card back.

I have, for some reason, always thought the topdecking part of Courtyard is the thing and that the +3 cards is just a bonus to make up for the loss of two cards and one action.

Now that I think about it, Embassy might be considered a better comparison than Smithy... both net you +1 card... Courtyard gets you the best 6 out of 7; Embassy the best 6 out of 9. But Embassy is non-Terminal; and doesn't give you the possibly beneficial top-decking.

I thought the criteria was "If you have only 1 buy and unlimited money, what is a card that you would never buy, assuming another certain card is on the board." As in, what cards have a card that is strictly superior at all times. City is not always superior, Trusty Stead can't be bought.
Eh, I suppose. I thought the honorable mentions were cards that could conceivably better than the "strictly superior" card (ie. Courtyard/Smithy).I assume Moneylender is just because of Counterfeit, but is honorable just 'cus of TR/KC?
