So I was thinking, maybe this diverse community can help solve a mystery of memory for me that has haunted me for years.
I'm trying to find an old Japanese animated movie (I think) from probably the early 80s. I saw it as a small child.
Unfortunately, I remember very little about it. Here is what I recall:
--bad guys (aliens? Robots?) are turning humans into building blocks (think sinister Lego people) and building a mega building (spaceship?).
--an emotional scene of a boy trying unsuccessfully to save his parents (sister? Girlfriend?) from becoming building block robot things, but it happens right in front of his eyes.
And that's it, unfortunately. Ring any bells? My Google fu has failed me. The reason I think it's early 80s is based on my age, plus it coincides with memories of Flight of Dragons.
