If I possess my opponent, and I play a Goons from his hand, who gets the VP chips?

Your opponent gets them.

He is playing his own Goons. You are forcing him to. Same with Bishop and Monument.

Similarly, if you force him to play an attack, it targets you. He is playing everything, not you.

It's totally viable if your next hand was bad (e.g. $2 or less with no important actions).

Goons is a great anti-possession card. Maybe the best.

In my limited Possession experience, I'd say it's probably about on par with Golem. If they have a Possession or two and maybe one or two other cards you don't want to play, there's no way you're touching that Golem. Also great for finding your own Possessions.

When my girlfriend got me Alchemy earlier this year for my birthday, we opened it up to have a game. I got a couple of Possessions and played one to show her how it works and she got annoyed that I had stolen her turn... as you do. A bit later on she had managed to get her own Possession to get me back. She Possessed me and played my Golem. 2 Possessions. Of course, I had many many other actions in my deck because I wasn't playing as seriously as I do online, and also it was an Alchemy game so there was always going to be actions anyway, so it probably wasn't very likely the Golem would hit a single Possession, let alone two.

After that Alchemy stayed on the shelf for a while.

I think when playing in real life, Possession is much more fun to play, and much more aggravating when someone does it to you.
