I know, I'm about an hour early, but I have an errand I have to run, so I won't be here at 0900.

It's a New Year.  8 players (raerae, Shraeye, Robz888, Eevee, Insomniac, Grujah, Galzria, and mcmcsalot) convene to play the game we love.

Day 1 has begun.

With 8 alive, it takes 5 for a majority lynch to occur.  However, this is blitz mafia, and a plurality at the deadline WILL result in a lynch.  If a tie exists at the deadline, the Hidden Democracy mechanism will be implemented.

Deadline is tomorrow, Thursday, Jan 3 at 1200 (aka Noon) forum time. (roughly 27 hours and 45 minutes from this post)

Best friends theory time. I'm again in favour of them claiming sometime day 1, after initial stances have been build. I think the last game went very well in that regard, if not in any other regard.

Quick twinclaim, raerae is my girlfriend, as some of you know.  I'd love for this to mean that I could read her better, but before the Buffy game started, I was somehow convinced she was one-shot cop based on the questions she asked me.  Turns out she was the IC.

As for the best friends thing, is there harm in them keeping that under wraps unless we start going after one of them? I can see benefits to both knowing and not knowing who there are...

I'm down with what Grujah and Eevee said.  I think it is better to claim sooner, and take advantage of the power of IC during day 1.  Despite providing occasional (I think it was 1?) votecounts in the last blitz game, I didn't follow it too closely, can somebody cliffnotes it for me?

By claim sooner, I don't mean right away; I think it would be strongest to let play go normally for maybe 1/3 or half the day, and then declare the best friends.

Now that thats out of the way. (Again scum can't counter-claim just like with the Masons/IC's setup). How do people feel about Grujah wanting the switch in when to claim?

Near the end of day 1 Destierro claimed, and POE said the other one was ash, who until then everyone thought was scummy because everyone thought Galz was IC. I had been voting for Desti and drove a pretty decent case that townies Eevee and DSell joined for. This was after I tried pushing a Dsell case that I never joined because some people liked it (my team) and townies didn't and dsell was going hard after me for the case. So I dropped it and then he too dropped his suspicion of me. Anyways lynch time came around and while I was MIA (RL issues) Dsell got lynched anyways so I guess the case was alright.

Day 2 starts people are confused and sure Jimm is obvscum (he was). Eevee wants to lynch Insom/Jimmm in some order (a plan that would lead to town win) Insom starts blindly pushing for Eevee for that plan as if Insom were town that would lead to town loss so assumes Jimmm is scum buddies with Eevee and pushes essentially the same case. Ash comes in and agrees voting for Eevee. then unvotes moves to Galz. unvotes moves to robz (i think?) then everybody goes back to galz with IC Desti dropping the hammer while Jimm wasn't around so the wagon was Robz/Ash/Insom/Desti providing a flawless scum victory for Insom/Robz/Jimmm

Idk, I was surprised to see Grujah agree with me because he never does, but I think scum will just give their honest opinions on theory stuff anyways because it's an easy way to contribute without taking positions. Null/neutral imo.

I think Grujah's confused. He is talking about two games ago, where me and Frisk pushed for this, Grujah was scum, and town won.

Last time, we did the modified version of delayed claiming, and mafia won flawlessly.
