Hmm. Well, I'm still strongly in favor of Masons claiming. Treat it like the other version of the game, except strictly superior, because our ICs have daychat.

I'm sure we don't want to take up much time debating this all over again--and the only person who agreed with me has vanished from the forums--but... it's better people.

Wait, here's a theory question: Is it better to have at least one mason claim before the end of D1 to make sure that mafia cannot fakeclaim the next day and get a 50/50 at a win?

For example, if we are all opposed to masons claiming, and we get through Day 1 and lynch a VT without either of the masons claiming, that gives mafia the chance to claim masons the next day. The rest of us will have to pick between the two claimed mason teams and we have a 50/50 shot at losing right then and there or discovering the scum team.

So actually, in light of this, I strongly think that at least 1 mason should claim Day 1. Although damn, if we lynch mafia and only 1 has claimed, that person will die and that opens mafia up to a fakeclaim.

False. If we lynch a mafia day 1, a mason goes down, and then another mason comes forward... if that person gets counterclaimed, we will be able to lynch both claimants and win for sure.

Yeah, day 1 scum lynch is awesome. Day 1 Town lynch, I'm not sure. I guess in most cases where scum manage to get a Townie lynched on Day 1 they're hoping for a >50% chance of winning. Blitz VII was an exception of course.

I would much rather put the power in the hands of the true Masons and give them 2/3 chances to guess the scum team.

Even if we hit scum, and that Mason gets vengkilled, the other Mason is still an IC after he claims D2. Scum cannot counterclaim him, because a 1-1 trade at that point is strictly a scum loss.

Okay guys, look. The Masons need to claim, for a reason we haven't really considered yet.

The scum are probably well on their way to figuring out exactly who the Masons are. I mean, would they be under any delusion about me being a Mason? Because obviously I probably wouldn't have stayed silent about being one if I was one. So they cross me off the list. Now, I see Eevee and Galzria yelling at each other a little bit. Well, guess what--they're probably not Masons together. Jimm's statements about the Masons suggest to me that he is also unlikely to be one. Possibly Dsell too. So my guess is some combination of Galzria/Insomniac/the new guy.

I'm positive that if I can put this together after 1 hour of playing, the three scum working together can as well.

Now, if the Masons were deliberately making public statements to throw people off, that could work. Like, let's imagine I am a Mason and I am doing that. Okay, then when I claim Mason, you're not going to believe me. So the Masons have this impossible task here of trying to not seem like Masons, but they'll need to prove they're Masons eventually! This is just not going to work.

Sorry to be outing people again, but... look, the scum are already figuring this stuff out, very likely.
