Combo? Governor/Native Village

Well, this might have been mentioned before, so feel free to lead me to that topic.
Anyway, I was wondering if this could work as a combo. It's obviously slower than native/village bridge, and needs +buy support, but I think it can work in some situations.
Here are some solo games:
http://dominion.isotropic.org/gamelog/201212/17/game-20121217-140719-aa84de9c.html
6 provinces on turn 17
http://dominion.isotropic.org/gamelog/201212/17/game-20121217-141736-22a5255c.html
6 provinces on turn 16, 2 more on turn 17
Keep in mind two things:
1. This combo could be triggered earlier, preferably right after the opponent buys their third/fourth province.
2. I am definitely not playing optimally in my example games.

So, what do you think? Is it a combo, or is it a nombo?
If it's a combo, perhaps native village should be added to the works with list on the governor article.

I don't think it's a combo, but I wouldn't call it a nombo either - people use 'nombo' either to refer to things you'd think would synergize but don't (and I wouldn't think these would synergize) or things that anti-synergize (and I think these are basically just two cards).

You have to keep in mind that your slow-trashing, +buy cards are really really good for you here, and more importantly that you are speeding your opponent up quite a bit by your governors, so that's not so fast.

I see. Thanks for your thoughts. I've pulled it off in a couple of games, but it needs good support.

That doesn't mean you can't use them together, or that that can't be good - it might be. I just don't think they have so much synergy to really call it a combo.

6 Provinces in 16-17 turns sounds impressive, but remember, we're talking about Governor here. Governor+BM is already like, what, 13-14 turns to 4 Provinces? This doesn't really sound any faster than that.

But not strictly better, because the spinoff can have a different cost than the expansion.

One game, I got 4 Provinces in 11 turns with Governor.

Bear in mind that I was talking solo. With two players, both going Governor, you're probably looking at about 12 turns each.

Yeah, if you only need to get 4 Provinces and a Duchy, you can trash more aggressively than when you would need to get 5 or 6 Provinces.

Yeah Governor is just too fast sometimes. Played a game yesterday where I felt like I wanted to buy more of them but my opponent had quite a few and kept using them for + cards so I was starting with 7+ card hands typically so I didn't really need them. We ended on turn 13 so I think people are right in saying that it brings the end game much closer than that turn 16+. http://dominion.isotropic.org/gamelog/201212/17/game-20121217-192231-57de5f0d.html
