I was looking at these three clues a lot and just really really stumped. Now that I look at it again it should have (I hope I hope I hope) been obvious after seeing swimming. I was just looking blankly at these clues until a minute ago, though.

This was a great game! Really good teamwork, it was fun making a comeback in the second half.

Yes, that was exciting…and challenging. It would have been different if we just randomly received a word, but we had to actually pick one that you wanted to be guessable on the second clue and not the first. Interesting little strategic element there.

Nope.  It died fairly quickly.  I wanted it just to write how I knew some answers before the players.

Would having an external source supply the word make it any different?

An external source of words would have been different. I don't know if it'd be better, but it would definitely be different. For one, with an external source, there would be a greater likelihood of words being guessed on the first try (unless that list consists only of difficult words).

Picking your own word added a little bit of strategy. At one point, I thought about giving the password of "corn," but I quickly dismissed it because I figured the other team would start off with "cob," which would have been a giveaway.

"Synchronize" was a pretty difficult word. I don't think there was anything I could have chosen as the clue that would have given it away the first time. And as we saw, it wasn't even that easy of a word to get the second clue on.

Looking back, I think the award goes to Dsell for taking a wide-open word like "jet" and finding the one clue that would narrow it down instantly. That was inspired.
