ash, I'll be away from my Friday (Forum Thursday night/Friday morning) until my Sunday afternoon (Forum Saturday night/Sunday morning). If we're starting on Friday, then I'm still happy to play and get caught up towards the end of day 1, but if you think it would be best for me to sub out, then I'll do that.

I actually think this will start on Sunday night Forum time, my Monday morning, but have an extended D1; possibly 48 hours.  I think, given the changes to the set-up, the time may be warranted.

If "D1" ends say Tuesday night (48 RL hours after a Sunday evening start), this would still be over by next Friday, right?  In other words, only the first "day" would be 48 RL hours?

Correct, subsequent days will be 24 hours.

The humans know very little about us.  They only hear our voices, and we wipe their memory after each test.  Perhaps if we taught them, they could evolve to a higher level of morality and prescience?

No, I don't think so.

Captain_Frisk, Eevee, Grujah, Insomniac, Jimmmmm, Robz888, sparky5856, and SwitchedFromStarcraft wake up in what appears to be a clearing, surrounded by rocks, a gigantic tree in the center, with a rope hanging from it.

Out of the sky, a voice: welcome humans.  I am your speaker.  I will tell your tales after you are gone.  Know this!  There are among you three Mafia Goons.  Find them.  Destroy them.  Or lose yourselves.

But be warned, this will not be easy.  We have implanted the three evil ones with neural transmitters, so they may be plotting in front of your very eyes.  To aid in the struggle for good, we selected two innocents for transmitters as well, so that they may confer and share.  We call them the Masons.

Day 1 has begun.  Deadline is in 48 hours.

I don't think they should claim right away, because people always treat IC's differently. I think having the best of both worlds is the optimal solution, they should coordinate the claim in their daychat and do it when they feel the time is right. Which could very well be day 1 already, although postponing it until 1st scum has died is definite huge edge for town so I dont know.

Not saying whether I'm a mason or not obviously, despite the use of the word "they".

Hmm.. I was not here recently, how did those games fare for town?
 
But I think that masons are stronger for town, mafia cannot hit them as easily, and if they survive long enough they can win or force a double fakeclaim from mafia?

Just a reminder, this was a ninja start, so don't expect all fellow players to be aware the game is ongoing yet.  That's part of the reason for the 48-hour Day 1.  Subsequent days will be 24 hours.

Also, a quick reminder that unique votes will start to be counted at some point by mods.
