Cultist Big Money?

Has anyone taken a good look at Cultist Big Money?  It looks like it may be quite good, since you can get lots of Cultists and they won't draw themselves dead.  They are also a reasonably good attack. $5 is a little pricy though.

I imagine it would play a lot like Lab-BM, where your opponent (and maybe yourself) are slowed slightly by Ruins. I've never heard anyone say Lab-BM was a good idea, but maybe giving out Ruins makes it more playable?

I could also see a comparison to Witch-BM.  You don't get tie breaker points, but you don't draw other Witches dead either, so you can buy lots of them.  But then you have a narrow price window, since $6 or $7 should probably start going towards Gold before long.

Actually, this is a pretty solid strategy, especially because Cultist is terminal but link up together. Most often, when Cultist is on the board, I just play Cultist big money. Usually, this seems like the right strategy to go for.

Cultists and treasures are perfectly sound. Where you might stop at two witches you can get a third or fourth cultist and it's probably better than trying to get some half hearted drawing engine to work.

Also, getting a third and fourth Cultist helps you win the Ruins split which can be important.

Why would you ever stop buying Cultists with $5? Other than buying Duchies.

I slightly suspect, this strategy might be improvable by adding a trasher (for benefit) once the curses ruins are out, but I'm not sure. You can trash away ruins, or Cultists for the one time +3 cards plus whatever TFB you have.

...spin-offs are still better for all of the previously cited reasons.
But not strictly better, because the spinoff can have a different cost than the expansion.
