If a player trashes his Tunnel while Possessed, he sets it aside and discards it at the end of his turn. Who gets to reveal the discarded Tunnel and who gains the Gold?

I think nobody gains the Gold. If you read Possession carefully, it says "; any cards of his that are trashed are set aside and returned to his discard pile at end of turn."

I think the Tunnel that is set aside is never discarded, for the same reason that Tunnels in your deck are not discarded when Chancellor or Scavenger puts your deck in your discard.

Like Chancellor they aren't 'discarded', so the Tunnel doesn't activate.
