I've never had new players confuse the three base treasures.  What I have seen is confusion over their cost vs. output.  Presumably since both are displayed with the same format, but in different corners of the card.  It's easy to think that Silver costs $2, or that the output of a Gold is $6.

Still, I like the idea of a card like this existing that brings back cards that you don't start with.

Here's a silly question: Why doesn't Counting House have +Buy?

Has this been considered and dismissed during playtesting?
It certainly would make pulling 16 Coppers out of your discard pile in a Mountebank game a lot more fun.

They can't all have +1 Buy. Prosperity already has twice as many +Buy cards as a normal set.

I don't remember if I considered tacking a +1 Buy on Counting House. I wasn't unhappy with the card, so, probably not.
