In all seriousness, I'm scum, good game guys.

The finals excuse was legit. I only needed the extra time to set up an elaborate way to make Qvist appear scum. Had I been town I would have had time to claim. I legitimately didn't have time to fake-claim, though.

I still do not approve mafia-lurking.

Yes, and this is why I was willing to vote...

Sorry - this game was unfair.  If scum had 5 cards, it would have been a whole different game.

I should have lied about what Forge did last night and claimed my 5th card, Nobles, was the redirect. That was what I initially intended to do, but floundered under the pressure and time constraints.

cayvie played Possession N2 which is what caused the TM confusion. I wonder what would have happened had she played it on herself.

The big problem was that there were SO MANY sources of information.  You could really only lie about 1 card in your hand... spy card was OP.

Tactician was double plus OP.

Yeah you guys should have called me on my BS as soon as you saw I had Tactician and didn't play it.

So flawless victory right?  D1 no-lynch was key.

Tonight I was going to graverob, which was basically play a card from the trash.

Volt would have done it too, presumably we both would have saged Asher and / or Qvist, and we would have resolved the game.

Governor would give me doublevote for 1 day.  Either public or secret.

I was totally gonna Vig ash, even after promising not to.

You don't give a man a vig and expect him not to play it.

So flawless victory right?  D1 no-lynch was key.

That's what secured our loss, in my mind. Had there been that D1 lynch and I had properly claimed on Nobles, I think I might have been able to get Volt or Qvist lynched. The dream was to get asher lynched, vig Qvist and then someone claim the redirect to get Volt lynched. It was a pipe-dream, though.

I played no card N2 so another Tactician wouldn't screw us over. I played Forge -> Cutpurse, Tactician N3 so that if I were investigated, I would have 0 cards in hand, appearing to have no result.

I was also hoping Tactician might leave somebody with one card too few (because of the Cutpurse, maybe) and as a result I could get them lynched. No such luck.

This game was always going to be an up-hill battle for scum. I think cayvie could have avoided her lynch, maybe, but Dsell, boy, he was gone the second D2 started.

What did cayvie play Night 2?

I think this setup is fascinating and has a lot of promise, but needs some tweaks for balance.  I'd definitely play another round from the get-go with some rules adjustments.

Yeah, Arch, this game was fun and a good idea but a little broken. I don't believe it should count in the rankings.

But only becasue he was so scummy Day 1. THere's a reason we chose to investigate him.

Possession. It did what I claimed Forge could do. I was in a rush so I copied it word for word.

Did you actually play Wishing Well looking for Militias, or did you play it looking for Treasure Maps?

Hunted for Militias to try to pin those who had it as scum. I didn't know TM's existed at the time. Well, I knew they did, I guess, but didn't think about their implications. I knew Militia would appear scummy, I had no idea about TM.

Well done guys! Impossible setup for scum. Still fun nonetheless!

It was indeed broken against scum.  Nick played valiantly though, and almost pulled off enough confusion to last one more day.

The main problem was the presence of far too much info.  A d1 mass claim would have done scum in almost immediately.  Since cards are passed, it is easy to piece everything together.  It doesn't benefit scum as much as town because scum cannot lie very well.  Since there are duplicate cards, it is hard for them to even lie about what a card does.  What if there was a second Forge?

Scum dodged one bullet in somehow drafting both Tacticians.  But they couldn't dodge the numerous inspection attacks.  Even though various attacks can change handsize, players can immediately claim that they were forced to discard and work out what happened.

The main solutions I have for fixing the game would be:

1. Don't reveal what cards were played overnight.  Revealing that info destroyed any chance scum had of lying effectively.
2. Let scum draft a fifth card.
3. Fewer duplicates (or at least note when cards are unique).

It was an ambitious setup by Archetype.  It was unfortunate that the setup was breakable, but that happens sometimes.
