I did not know that a song existed!

Aw man, you need to get some TMBG in your music collection.

I do enjoy hearing the Polk song. I just wish they put it to polka.

My initials are CM, and long ago I wanted a fake name to use for emails and chose "Confusing Manifestation" because that's the kind of kid I was. Of course, eventually I tired of typing that whole thing out, and for whatever reason didn't want to go back to the intials, so I used the first three letters of each word and was surprised at how well that worked.

Inside joke in the mafia forums.  You'll find it if you look hard enough.

I can't believe I missed posting in this when it was first, well, posted.

"werothegreat" is just a username I use for everything.  It started when I played the original StarCraft, and just spammed across the keyboard, calling myself Qwertyuiop Mytrio, for no real reason.  That then got shortened to Wero the Great One when I played Age of Wonders, and that got shortened to werothegreat I think when I joined BlizzForums.  I think they may have had a character limit.

For a game I had to type in my name.  I would type in three random letters on the keyboard and think of a name from there.  Most of the time it was "sdy" or "sgy."  Sudgy randomly popped into my head, and it stuck.

I was in elementary school and thought it was cool.

Now it's an unintentional litmus test based around how people parse it, which is just cool enough for me to not bother changing it.

It's actually really interesting. Some people see it immediately, whereas others only see it after looking at the name a few times.

I have no idea what it implies, but it's pretty awesome.

That is strange. I always read it as Titan-drake.

Wow.  Having seen it several hundred times, I'd never noticed it... and probably wouldn't until someone else pointed it out.

Maybe it's only obvious to people who are not familiar with the term "drake."

Some nickname for me in school was "hippophanes". When I had to make up a user name in a unixoid system, it was restricted to 8 characters. That was 20 years ago. Nothing to do with Hippophae rhamnoides. Oh, and the avatar on the left is a cartoon character that I wish had been around when I was a kid.

I'm not 37 years old or anything like that... it was my soccer jersey number. All the other numbers <40 were taken except 37, so I took it, and then I realized how awesome the number was, and it became my favorite.

I used to go by Tom Bombadil because I thought I was a hardcore LotR fan.  I still use that or a variant quite a bit, but one day somebody was tired of typing out my full handle, and I guess he had just been doing some geography homework or something, because he randomly shortened it to Tombolo.  It stuck as a nickname and I got attached to it.

Yeah, 3*37=111, that's kinda sweet. Did you play in a high-level team? Because lower-league football teams do not tend to have such large teams.

Nope. I didn't even know what Cygwin was until a minute ago when I looked it up to see what you were talking about. It's just a logo I came up with when I started using this name about ten years ago.

I'm studying Information Science and design video game concepts in my spare time (for myself - i never really programmed on one until just recently) and one character from one of those game concepts has the name i use. "Per aspera ad astram" is where it comes from. He's not my favourite character of all times, but my favourite character is female, so it would be a bit strange to use her name instead... My avatar is also actually based on artwork for that game Asper came from.
