Dominion: Dethroned

So I've been toying with the idea of making a fan expansion that basically just screws with the whole idea of the game of Dominion, much like Unglued and Unhinged do for Magic: the Gathering. And I'm looking for some input, just for fun.

Here's a few card idea I just came up with, for the lulz.

Quote
Mid-Summer Gala
Action
$4 (Not quite sure of this...)

Shuffle everyone's hands into a single pile, then deal them out, starting with yourself, to form new hands. Then, discard your hand.

Quote
Timeshare
Action - Duration - Victory
$4

Now and at the start of your next turn:
+1 Buy.
------------
Worth 1VP. If this card is in play when the game ends, worth 5VP instead.

And so on and so forth.

Mid-Summer Gala needs to be a little more specific (how the cards are dealt, do people get to choose what cards they want to put in their hands etc), but the last part of discarding your hand hurts quite a bit. I wish you can somehow get to retain your hand after the redistribution, since that'd be more fun.

For Timeshare I'm not too sure whether you'd get to hit the 5VP often. My gut says no but it's a duration card, and the 5VP thing could only be in effect during it's first turn (since game ends after the clean up phase, when the duration effect ends the card is cleaned up too). That remains to be seen.

I was really hoping for:

Dethroned Room:
Choose an action.  Play it 0 times.

That could get pretty crazy if you chain them.

So the deal with Mid-Summer Gala is that you deal one card to each player starting with yourself; I originally thought of having no discard but as it stands, you basically want to play it as the last card in your hand. A kind of "finale", if you will. The version without discarding was way too hard to price, I thought it might be worth at least 7 or maybe 8, cause it's a great pin just by itself.

I've tested out Timeshare a little, and that's basically the idea. It's not often that you hit 5VP, but it's a very cheap 5VP if you are sure the game is going to end before it becomes your turn again. Or, if you want to be able to stall the game so it gets back to your turn. It's pretty fun.

I was really hoping for:

Dethroned Room:
Choose an action.  Play it 0 times.

Normal Room:
Choose an action in your hand. Play it once.

I may well just include Normal Room in the set; it actually combos rather well with things like Peddler, Conspirator, Horn of Plenty etc. Maybe I could call it "Absconding Room".

Blue Elephant
Pick a game of Dominion going on that you can see that is not your own.
Choose a player and a kingdom card in that game. That player gains that card.

Can this thread just be combined with the bad card ideas thread?

It's not that the cards are bad per se, I want the cards to be quite balanced/playable. Just, I want the cards to be fun and whimsical, you know?

Try this one on for size.

Philanthropist
Action
$7

Gain a card. Each other player may gain a card costing up to $2 less than it.

Honestly I think a lot of ideas in the bad card thread are salvageable enough for this.

Hurry Up
$2 Action, Duration
Start a stopwatch. Say "Hurry Up" fifteen times. Stop the stopwatch.
The amount of time on the stopwatch is the longest any player can take on their turn while this card is in play. If that time is exceeded, that player's turn immediately ends.
If multiple "Hurry Up" cards are in play, the shortest time applies.

---

Village Idiot
$6 Action
+20 actions, +10 buys
Draw your deck. You may not play any action cards after playing this card.

---

Hurry up is inherently self limiting. Village Idiot combos with diadem and stash, and probably does something else. Probably. But you should have bought gold.

I will get this and now play all the treasures in my deck. Also, what if I King's Courted Golem and revealed this and a Workshop the first time? (It was hard to make a specific case that still worked)

Good point! Better make it cost $11. :)

I put this earlier in the bad cards thread. It's probably better for this:

Parallel Dimension
$5 - Action
Start another game of Dominion using another set of kingdom cards.
If you win: +3 Cards, +1 Action
If you lose: +$1

While this card is in play, you may buy yourself another set of Dominion and/or its expansions if needed.
