Okay, so this isn't a board game and it is not a game you should be looking for on store shelves but it is outrageous fun in a party setting. So long as everyone obliges to keep it clean it works for all ages (who can read) too; the games we played included an 8 and 10 year old and this did not diminish the fun in the slightest.

Supplies needed:
Scrap Paper
Pencils/Pen

Setup:
Deal to each player a piece of paper for every player in the game. That is, if there are 9 players then each player receives a stack of 9 pieces of paper.
Give each player a pencil/pen.

How to play:
1. Everyone begins the game by writing a word or phrase or thing or place or person or such onto the front page of their stack.

2. Once everyone has completed their first sheet everyone passes their entire stack to the person to their left/right (direction is irrelevant so long as it is consistent throughout the game).

3. Upon receiving the incoming stack of papers the players read the word/phrase/etc. then places the front page on the bottom of the stack and then draw a picture of representing what they read on the top page.

4. Once everyone has completed the drawing phase everyone passes their entire stack to the person to their left/right (direction is irrelevant so long as it is consistent throughout the game).

5. Upon receiving the incoming stack of papers the players examines the picture then places the front page on the bottom of the stack and then writes a word/[phrase/etc. of what they saw in the picture.

6. Rinse and repeat until everyone's original stack has returned to them. At this point pick someone to begin by publicly reading through the process beginning with their original word/phrase/etc. going through each alternating slide. enjoy the outrageous peals of laughter that will erupt as everyone catches onto the way different people interpret the phrases or pictures. Be amazed at how far away the final slide is from the original verbiage or, alternately,. be amazed at how well the original idea was preserved.

Notes: In my opinion a slightly better experience is had in groups involving an odd number of people since the originating slide and the final slide will both be text/captions and a nice effect is had to compare the two.

I think this is marketed as Telestrations and Eat Poop You Cat, but it's definitely a game that you don't need to buy to play.

Index cards work better than scrap paper, provided you have enough.

You can also play online at http://drawception.com/ .  Their all-time top games leaderboard is hilarious: like this one, or this one.

We tend to draw/write pretty small, so that you can just fold the paper backwards when you pass it along.

It's a hillarious game, though. I recommend everyone to try it.

I was intrigued by Eat Poop You Cat, but I never bothered to play it.

I'm so excited to see an online version of it. I will have to try it. It sounds like a fun party game.IRL too.

I've heard it called Telephone Pictionary.

This is clearly the best name for it (though among my friends it's simply called "the paper game").

Reminds me of telephone charades, which is hilarious for different reasons.  Also rather frustrating for the final guesser. :P

Just happened to be introduced to this game on Friday night, though we called it Picture Whispers (as opposed to Chinese). So much fun, especially at the end.

HOW DID YOU FIND ME o_o

Yeah, it's lots of fun. I've been playing since they created it in March. I'm nowhere near as good as some of the people on there though. Bask in the glory of my 'amazing' drawing of Waldo:

No, I must know!

I created a friend game but nobody played and I got bored of Gangnam Style/Nyan Cat/Batman every game so I deleted it and stopped Drawceptioning.

I posted this at BGG but I'd like to see if anyone has additional suggestions for my first attempt into starting up a game of Eat Poop You Cat.

=================
So I played Telestrations before, but I don't want to buy it. I will also be going to a party that may have more than 8 players, so EPYC is even more intriguing.

I'm going to a cast party tomorrow night (actors are crazy), and I want to bring up EPYC. I know there will be Cards Against Humanity, but I get tired of that after a while.

I'm trying to think up what to buy for this game. I saw someone's scan which had a different color marker for each player. Brilliant. I think I'll do that.

What about the paper? I was thinking of getting index cards as they are easier to manage and they already start at the same size so I don't have awkwardly sized pieces. On the other hand, I love the idea of folding sheets to form a "comic strip" approach. Maybe some legal-sized paper?

Any other suggestions? Sadly I'm writing this close to the last minute, so I'm not holding my breath here, but even late replies may result in me making a EPYC package to bring with me to parties and conventions.

And am I a killjoy if I am not a fan of the idea of elaborate sentences? Maybe I'll change my mind when actually playing it. I kind of liked the limitation of Telestration clues in that you can see the clues just miss their mark, while some of the initial sentences I've seen seem destined to go off the rails the first time. But then, I try to get my head into the mode, and I can see it. I'm sure I'll stick with the original concept of silly sentences that just keep going, but I suppose it's the hardcore gamer in me that longs to see a chain that might actually adhere to the original concept.

Embrace the long sentences. Embrace horrible artists. Embrace failure. EPYC is not a game, it's an experience.

Other than that, index cards and markers should be fine, just make sure you have lots and lots of index cards if there'll be a crowd.

This seems like the kind of game my fiance would enjoy -- no competitive aspect, areas for creativity; she loves Pictionary. Also, the name "Eat Poop You Cat" is something that she (and I) would find absolutely hilarious. I want to get this for her for Christmas. After my own Google-Fu I couldn't find any way to get a version of the game called "Eat Poop You Cat" -- my guess is that it's out of print or may was never published under that name? Does anyone know anything about this, or maybe can Google better than me?

I think it's a waste of money to buy it.  Just get some paper and pencils, and voila, you're done.  If you introduce it to her, you can call it whatever you want.

I tend to agree, but a lot of the reason I want to get this for her is because I want her to open up a box that says "Eat Poop You Cat," be amused by the title, then find out it's something she'll actually like. If I can't get a hold of this for cheap I'll just do that.

Only one I could find was this one on BGG. It costs $46 + shipping, which is pretty outrageous for a game that can easily be made with just paper and pens. Considering it's a collector's item (the BGG page said it was published in 1984), all of the original copies will probably be around that same price.
