Just played a really weird colony game.
Board was
King's Court,
Hunting Party,
Merchant Ship, Counting House, Library,
Spice Merchant,
Thief, Mining Village, Apothecary,
WarehouseWe both go for KC/Hunting Party/Merchant Ship, he is able to green a bit more consistently and races out to a 4-2 lead. Meanwhile we are both spicemerchanting down our treasure. Anyway, I realize that I'm not going to be able to split colonies for a win, so I dip into thief, and he doesn't buy a 2nd merchant ship in time, so eventually its 5-2 colonies, but he's treasureless, if he buys treasure (which he tries a few times) I will just KC Thief for more SM fuel, and I'm able to get enough provinces to eventually win by 2.
I don't think I played that well, but I really liked the strategic move.
